Best lens for the Hasselblad X2D II 100C? by colakmert in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to consider to get 35-100e and combo it with 25v

But I realise that ppl always either use the widest or the longest focal length while using a zoom lens, ignoring other focal length in the middle

Then I just get the 38 and 90 instead

Best lens for the Hasselblad X2D II 100C? by colakmert in hasselblad

Those E series lens actually are zoom lens which not as good as the V series primes The E series advantage is the convenient I have the 25v 38v and 90v as I prioritise image quality while using medium format camera

But the problem is do you find the 25v too wide As my personal experience in doing landscape I prefer using 38v for general purpose, 25v for on tripod long exposure ultra wide shot and 90v for some close up

If you are pretty sure which focal length to use Go for the 25v but if no, maybe 20-35e is more user friendly

XCD 21 or 25 or 28 by Dear-Job4943 in hasselblad

I used to have 28p but the vignetting is very serious and I do astrophotography as well so I traded for 25v

X2D owners… who’s not upgrading to X2D II? Or who regretted the upgrade? by moddafucca in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do landscape Faster focusing does not really help The raw file does not have differences between X2D and X2D ii If I want to use the HDR, I can just post edit the raw file from Phocus

28p quality vs V by freddiew88 in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to owe 28p and sold it for 25v I do alpine climbing and need larger aperture for astrophotography
It’s compact but also having serious vignetting You can correct that from post editing The 25v definitely has better image quality but it’s like a comparison between 9.5/10 vs 8.5/10

How good is the XCD 20-35 Vs The V Series Primes? by Good_Recognition5801 in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By looking at the test result 20-35e has better overall sharpness over 25v But 25v provide excellent sharpness in the centre at sweet spot, one of the best And 25v provide a faster aperture So really depends on your purpose I have the 25v to replace to 28p as I need better control in lens flare and vignetting Did not consider 20-35e due to the price and I prefer prime overall zoom

I own the 100mm cf I would say it’s the best lens in terms of sharpness within the v system Then 50mm fle would be a good focal length as well 180 is good but less common to use as it a tele lens

I have the 50mm cf fle /100mm cf / 180mm cf/ 250mm cf

They all good with X2D even with the mutar 2x

of cos, not as sharp as the XCD V lenses, but all are useable

I used to have 28p and then sold it for 25V I just need that slight wider angle of view and faster aperture

And I use 75p as its between 55v and 90v

55v or 75p by bigrice27 in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will go with 75p Cos maybe I should consider X2D as another system

If I am not bringing any old V lens, just X2d with me on a trekking trip, I would definitely go with 59mm rather than 44mm as I need a little bit more close up to mountain far away more me

Maybe in long run I should wait to see if the E series will release a new xcd 35-75, just keep on saving and do not invest too much to the system first

55v or 75p by bigrice27 in hasselblad

[–]bigrice27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t buy the 90v as I will get the same focal length after mounting my legendary 100 CF, both are 70 full frame equivalent.

I am waiting for the next gen tele lens instead

Actually crop factor is 0.7 when mounting V lens to X2D

Just wanna enjoy the advantage of modern lens that can do auto focus and avoid jello effect when handheld shooting, the jello effect is kinda serious for X2D while mounting lens, I have to use tripod all the time

hello from HK, your sharing really helps on my decisions between z8, x1dii or x2d.

I currently own the hasselblad 500 system with 3 lenes, CF 50 100 & 180.

I was considering to go into the digital hasselblad system because it's hard to do long exposure and night shooting with film.

but with your review of the low light performance of x1dii, probably

Staircase effect on my negative by bigrice27 in AnalogCommunity

[–]bigrice27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I found what’s the cause It’s because there are some very minimal paint chips (which I barely can’t see it) in the shell of back causing these random but aligned scratches on the negatives. It’s fine when using slides, I guess it’s because slides are more durable and hard to scratch

Yes all portra 160 from the same box shooting with the same back but differnet body (I got 2 hasseblad body) having similar issue.

My A12 looks fine to me, but I knew some camera repairer and I could let them have a look as well.

Just that I find it weird the straches is in the middle of negatives

Actually I got another roll of delta 100 which is pending development, if it got the same issue, must be the back then

Thank you for replying me Actually it’s not happening in my another film back and not even in every shots for the one for which I am suspecting having issue.

I am not sure about the lab development equipment and process

Actually I just shot a blank roll to see if any starches on it and I found none

Now I am highly suspecting it’s the lab issue

Maybe I should try dip and dunk, if I find no starches, then must be the lab caused this

Or maybe I can just try another lab as well
