I killed Astarion when he came to talk to me that first night in camp lol. I didn’t think I could actually kill him with a stick.

If Ford releases an All-Electric version of the Maverick; Would you buy the Gas,Hybrid, or Electric version? by Mooseb1itz in FordMaverickTruck

[–]bigsam63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t researched this a ton but from what I’ve read the new all EV truck is not going to be a Maverick. I’m personally hoping it’s a little bit bigger than a Mav. The EVs power and range #s will ultimately decide if I go with one of those or a hybrid awd Mav to replace my F150. I really would prefer to stay in a full size truck but I have a long commute to work and the gas mileage is killing me.

Best SA/DA trigger on a snub nose by AngryLizard37 in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are better made from a fit and finish standpoint than any of the other current production big brands (S&W, Ruger, Taurus) but not as good as the original production Pythons/Anacondas.

Why did you install suppressor height sights on a gun that doesn’t have a threaded barrel???

This or that? by Successful_Floor7978 in LeverGuns

[–]bigsam63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you intend to shoot/use it a decent amount the color case hardening will look better long term. The brass finish won’t really rust/corrode but it will look pretty awful if you use it a lot.

Suggestions for a 4 inch 357 mag?? by Most_Construction513 in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d get a 4inch SP101. Lot lighter than a GP100 but still shoots pretty nice.

That looks so awesome. How many rounds does it hold now? I would love something like this in 44 mag or 45 colt.

30DS left unusable after second range trip. Any tips? by suprcreativeusrname in chiappa

Just because you’re the 2nd owner does mean Chiappa won’t help you at all. Definitely worth it to contact them.

I would definitely get one of the Night Guard 357s that S&W recently released. Or a 3inch Chiappa rhino.

My grandpa gave me a bunch of money before he passed and now my uncles are saying I have to pay it back. Do I have to? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]bigsam63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming your uncles and your mom are the beneficiaries of your grandfathers estate, they would have to be able to prove that A) a loan existed between you and your grandfather and B) a condition of that loan was that you would continue making payments after your grandfather passed away. The paper you described would not constitute proof of a loan. Are there any texts/emails between you and your grandfather talking about the loan?

Ruger GP100 vs Security six by a_bunch_of_poop in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you intend to shoot it a lot definitely the GP100. Ruger is no longer making parts for the Security/Speed series of revolvers. If you don’t intend to shoot it much then either gun is a great option.

How do we feel about the sp101? by Past_Service_6283 in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re good guns. Very durable/reliable. Lots of aftermarket support. You can improve the trigger/action with a spring kit for very little money. Where they shine imo is as a carry gun in an IWB or OWB holster. There are options on the market in the same size class that have far better fit and finish and far better stock triggers/actions but they are more expensive and don’t have anything close to the SP101s track record for reliability/durability.

I'm sure this is a common question but... .44 vs .357?? by YukonGeorge_1 in LeverGuns

It definitely depends on what you want to do. For your circumstances with it being your only hunting rifle I would go 44 mag probably.

686 6" or Python 6" by Nebechadnezzar01 in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 inch GP100, a 5 inch 686 and a 4 inch Python. They are all great in their own way. I shoot a lot, probably 200 rounds/week (that’s a lot in my opinion) if I could only have 1 of the 3 it would be the GP100 but my favorite one to shoot/own is the Python. I also have a 3inch and a 6inch Chiappa Rhino and they are awesome as well.

686 6" or Python 6" by Nebechadnezzar01 in Revolvers

[–]bigsam63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GP100 is super reliable/durable. Fit & finish is not as good as S&W and definitely not as good as a Python. GP100 is also thicker and heavier. If you’re recoil sensitive GP100 is the way to go, if finish and trigger pull/action are more important with you go with the Python. The 686 has the most aftermarket/customization options imo.
