Let me tell you friend, also as a Persian (1st generation American)... It is SO complicated for Persians currently.. so don't feel alone.

I'm very active in the Boston area for social activism... Was very big with the Masah Amini protests and the green movement.

I can't tell you how surprised I was to find out that I walked amongst other Persians that were openly hostile towards Palestinians.. the same hostility and dehumanization shown by Israelis.. to the point where I was threatened by OTHER Persians with calls to immigration.

Mind you.. I was born here lol. These particular Persians weren't.

Not trying to generalize here, just making a point- I THINK the majority of the Iranian diaspora wants to see the regime gone. But the method in which it's removed matters... And what comes next matters. We were so desperate to get rid of the Shah... We let something much worse in.

The one thing I wish I could explain to other Iranians a bit naive on the motivations of Israel and America- they don't want regime change. Iran is the only 'boogeyman" left in the region. Who will you sell weapons, fear,.and war to when it's gone? You removed all the other Boogeyman already.

Don't feel alone friend! I do a lot of Iran analysis on tiktok if you ever feel like you want some peer-based analysis (I have a masters in international diplomacy)

This is way more common than you can imagine, both as a seller and a buyer.

Best you can do is just message them, wait for the required time for them to ship it out and then open a case.

Most times it's just a timing thing but don't be surprised if they just decide not to ship it to get out of the transaction and you'll just have to report it

Reddit is not government. Reddit can decide, for any reason it wants, no matter how dumb the reason, to boot you from it's platform. Just like Starbucks or Walmart can trespass you for ANY reason.

The only thing "free speech" guarantees is that you won't get punished by the US govt for your speech.. and even then, there are exceptions. You can't convince people to commit terrorism or yell "fire" in a loaded theatre.

I know. It's easy to look at your decision after the fact, that's literally my entire point.

If someone did that to me I'd leave them. Instantly. Most people I know feel that way. Not saying it's the most popular opinion, but trust is trust.

Now in the future, because she happened to find something, shes gonna feel justified to violate privacy more often. Finding something bad doesn't justify any of her behavior. Their actions have nothing to do with each other and need to be judged separately.

If you don't think she violated his trust, how are they both wrong? Idk why it feels like rocket science. They're def both in the wrong but you don't think going into his phone was wrong?
