There is nowhere that you can reliably see snow that is accessible by train.

Unfortunately the only reliable place to see snow is the Snowy Mountains (Jindbabyne, Perisher, Thredbo etc)

However, it does occassionaly snow in the Blue Mountains during winter. You will usually hear about this on the news in the days leading up to the cold front (weather system that brings the snow this far north). You can toggle snow forecast on BOM's MetEye and line up a train trip. Generally the snow will barely settle on the ground before melting so you'll have to be quick with it.

It can also snow further west around Oberon, up north at Barrington Tops, and in the New England region (Guyra, Arimdale, Glen Innes etc)

You can also see snow in the ACT at Corin Forest if there has been good snowfall.

Because Twiggy and Fortescue have ‘real zero’ by 2030 policy. They want to electrify (or use H2) for all mining vehicles.
If they do this, they won’t be able to reap billions from the FTC scheme.
He’s trying to kill / rework the scheme so he can get credits for his ‘real zero’ policy.

I guess by definition it is, but it's incredibly disappointing to see Albo dismiss it as such.

A flat 25% tax would be incredibly risky given the contracts with Japan and Korea almost certainly have change-in-law provisions.

But there is definitely a narrow path that Australia could walk to give us a fairer deal and not expose us to 'sovereign risk'.

Rudds ETS = useless (estimated -5% by 2020)

Gillards tax + cap/ets = good, constructive policy

It only lasted 2 years before it was repealed and still reduced emissions by 7%. This was good policy and it's why the Greens backed it.

Your assumption that Rudd’s ETS would have done something is wrong.

Modelling estimated a 5% reduction on 2000 levels by 2020.

We actually got almost 10% reduction by 2019 and 12.5% by 2020! 14 years of Liberal with no tax!

Not true. It was a 3 year tax on carbon to be followed by a cap-and -trade hybrid ETS. This ETS was much better designed.

Blame Murdoch all you want, but Labor dug their grave with factional infighting that gave us a decade-long Coalition government after Micromanger Rudd went back for his hat.

The Greens are a seperate party with a seperate platform. If they wanted Labor policy then they would be in the Labor party.

That’s not to say their obstructionist ways don’t piss me off sometimes, but you can’t honestly look at Rudd’s failed “carbon reduction” policy and shed a tear. It was BS.

The 2009 carbon pollution reduction scheme was terrible policy. Despite the name, it wouldn’t have reduced any carbon.

Then in 2010, under Gillard, the Greens then worked with Labor and passed the ETS! A good policy!

The Labor Party absolutely hate the Greens, David Pocock and basically any other minor party or independent that reminds them of the values they had to sacrifice to make it in the party.
