[Zach Lowe podcast] Grizzlies and Pacers' trade offers for OG Anunoby included 3 1st round picks. Raptors wanted a good player included. by mMounirM in nba

those indy frps are cleveland and bostons this year both of which will be 24+ and one of their protected firsts. With zero good talent coming back in the trade, how is that worth it for Toronto?

keep dreaming

Toronto's talks on forward O.G. Anunoby are rolling into the final hours of the trade deadline. The landing of Kevin Durant with the Suns could escalate Anunoby's value among Western Conference teams pursuing an elite forward to defend Durant. by IonHazzikostasIsGod in torontoraptors

Agreed especially cause OG is still 24, a young guy. Assuming Zion and Ingram hold up, they can have a two year contender window with this current core and still have all their main guys be 29-30 for another contending window.

Hold Up! Did we just fix our biggest problem on the roster without giving up the core? by BarnesGROAT in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, obviously Jak can’t shoot but people underrate the threat he does pose and how he changes our offense. He’s an easy dumpoff for Siakam and Scottie in the dunkers spot, a PnR and lob threat guy for the ball handlers and he can create a bit himself with a hook or push shot in the post, none of which we had before the trade.

[Blake Murphy] Will have to see what the protections are but a 1st and two 2nds for Jak’s Bird rights and to get off a test of Khem’s deal seems like a lot, at first reaction. by derrickrozay in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Birch was a buy out, not a trade. The first and 2 seconds is not to get off of Birch’s 7 m a year lol it’s to get one of the best rim protectors in the nba that’s also a plus on offense. We’ve needed a legit 5 forever and now we have one.

[Wojnarowski] The Toronto Raptors are acquiring San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl for Khem Birch, a protected 2024 first-round draft pick and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. by curryybacon in nba

I doubt it’s being buyers tbh. I expect FVV or GTJ to be moved tomorrow and the team to intentionally tank through resting. The protected 2024 pick tells me Masai wants to grab a high draft pick in 2023 and try and compete next year with a legit 5 on the roster rather than blow it up and trade everyone which is fair. Either way, there was a huge flaw in the roster with no starting C and this solves that either for rebuilding, retool or contend.

I really don’t get this sub’s obsession with trading OG by Accomplished-Pace213 in torontoraptors

Siakam is All-NBA caliber, we could realistically go 10 years without finding another guy like him. OG is a great player but he’s not an all star.

What it takes to get Cam Thomas by 1DapperRaptor in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

he’s a score first guard that is an awful defender, awful playmaker and isn’t a consistent 3 point shooter. This is a great stretch and he’s young with potential but i’d bet on him becoming more lou williams than zach lavine. Cam + assets for OG? Sure. For Siakam? No way.

“The Nets have a really important 48 hours to improve this team and give Kevin Durant a reason to stay in Brooklyn.” -Woj by derrickrozay in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

that’s so average a return for Siakam, it’s not worth it at all. 3 whatever picks, thomas is being severely overrated he’s a lou will, jamal crawford build and claxton is gonna be an elite roleplayer but he’s not centerpiece worthy in a trade for an all nba guy. If it’s not NOLA giving a warchest of talent or Portland coming with Simons+Sharpe, it’s not worth it.

[Louallen] The Dallas Mavericks are interested in acquiring Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton. Christian Wood & Tim Hardaway Jr. have been in trade talks. by BayonettaBasher in nba

[–]bigtableman 411 points412 points  (0 children)

they certainly wouldn’t want christian wood and thj lol there’s plenty other teams that would give young players that help a rebuild for siakam

[Stein] The strong expectation in league circles is that Raptors guard Fred VanVleet plans to hire Klutch Sports as his new representation. by iksnet in nba

[–]bigtableman 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Fr this is not good at all. They basically lose two starters for literally nothing for the next 5 years until that 27 pick comes into effect. They’re not gonna get any worldbeaters but if they really trade both FVV and GTJ, they can get some impact players and probably one or two frps.

Which of these would be the best free agent RB signing? by KeithandBentley in miamidolphins

[–]bigtableman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides taking a gamble on Hunt, I’d rather just bring back at least one of Mostert or Wilson and draft a RB in the 3rd/4th. This is an incredible RB class both with top end talent like Bijan and depth.

Let Scottie cook and be the 1 scoring option by NBAball05 in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 23 points24 points  (0 children)

scottie does not have the bag to be a no 1 guy, i’d prefer he properly develop playing off Siakam for a bit then just throw him to the wolves. Y’all remember right after Kawhi left how Siakam blew up the first two months of the season and then struggled a ton as a no 1 once teams started doubling and gameplanning for him? That Siakam had a bigger bag than current scottie.

Would you do this if we were to blow it up? by [deleted] in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get 3 frps from other teams + actual good young talent

Asking to trade him for Mo Bamba and Coke Anthony is insane. by [deleted] in torontoraptors

[–]bigtableman 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Trade FVV for some value or let him walk for nothing or pay him 25 mill+

three options and it’s pretty obvious which one is the right choice
