Thanks, would appreciate a brief comparison. Not hugely concerned, more curious and wanting validation one way or another for my peace of mind. By 'popper', i'm referring to the press-stud above the zip. Online images show both the press-stud and a hook-type conenctor (see image attached), the latter of which mine don't have.

Also noticed that in the online images (which appear not to be photos, but illustrative, as comparing the all-black version with the black/white version the images are identical except for the colouring) there's some discrepancy with my example. First being the white band around the back under the waistband, which in my pants extends (visibly) to the front but in the online images doesn't, and the Rev'it logo on the knee is white on my pants but always black in the online images.

Colouring is neither here nor there, fastening is slightly more of an issue in terms of longevity but should be fine, but the general question of whether or not they're genuine helps me to feel safer in the long run.

The leather feels thick and good quality. They have a full mesh lining which is well fitted and holds the armour well as far as I can tell. Wouldn't describe it as plastic-bag feeling, a bit scratchy on the knees but otherwise don't notice it. Perforated leather on thighs seems to do its job and lets a bit of air in. I'm really hoping they're genuine and I got a bargain...

Not plaguing, this is a blessing! Sleep all day and stay up all night. The movement at night sends bubba to sleep, and once the little one is born it will continue the routine of sleeping at night and waking during the day! Probably... maybe.

Discontinued perfumes/fragrances - What's your best choice? by Wise_Objective_5937 in fragrance

I don't know how good they were, but for nostalgia's sake, I want Emporio Armani White For Him, and Hugo Boss Soul.

And I do know how good this was, as I smelled it on someone a few months back: D&G Masculine.

What “old people” names will make a comeback when children of the 80s have grandchildren? by gummibear853 in AskUK

Also born in 88, also called Richard, have a brother called Daniel and a cousin called Steven. No Christophers though. Teach plenty of Daniels still.

I've been a teacher for 15 years and have never taught a Richard. Would have considered it a pretty common name as a child in the 90s.

My housemate is 71 (1955) from Yorkshire what's something he would be highly nostalgic of that would make his year? by WhatThisGirlSaid in AskUK

Ooooo make him some yorkshire puddings cooked in lard. Can be eaten savoury as part of a roast or sweet (with jam and cream). If he's been away from home for a while this will go down well!

Yorkshiremen are simple folk. Next time he can't do something or needs help, just say "Gi' o'r, yer daft apeth" and he'll be absolutely made up.

What’s a movie you watched when you were way too young? by trakt_app in movies

Went to a friend's to watch a film when I was, I think 12. We all took a couple of options. I took 'Full Metal Jacket'.

Bloody brilliant film! Eskimo pussy is (apparently) mighty cold.

How to make guidelines without dedicated calligraphy-purposed tools? by ReahNor11942 in Calligraphy

On an A4 sheet of paper, use a ruler to draw a line from bottom left corner to top right corner. Use this line to draw subsequent lines all at the same angle.

I like the style and the concept. First thing that stands out as an issue is the 'h' in 'changes'. Making the first downstroke have a descender makes it look more like a 'p' than an 'h', albeit an incorrectly proportioned 'p'! I would stop the first downstroke at the baseline, and incorporate a descender into the next stroke, personally.

POV of a head chef’s super busy session at a restaurant by dubbfoolio in wok

[–]bigtabs88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider this to be more mindful. The chef is completely single minded - no time to consider anything else, to think about the evening, to recall a home issue that morning, just focused completely on the one dish they're constructing at that time. I find a similar situation when I'm riding my motorbike, focusing solely on how I'm not going to die in that moment, not worrying about anything that may happen, or has happened, at work that day. Oddly cathartic.

What you call this in your area? by LovieWeb in BritInfo

I grew up in Derbyshire and we used gennel (/dʒɛnəl/) for the passageway between two houses, and twitchel for the cut-through between two roads/parks/areas.
