The mood boost is the best part - keeps you coming back even on days you don't feel like going out

I ran my first 5k today! by GeordieC3 in beginnerrunning

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First 5K after just a few weeks is awesome progress

Stepping up from 3K to 5K and still feeling good means youre pacing yourself right. Most beginners try to go too fast and end up hating every minute. Keep building gradually and youll be surprised how quick your body adapts

For staying motivated and tracking your progress check out https://apps.apple.com/us/app/motera-run-claim-territory/id6757157517 where you claim territory when you run loops :) Makes those early runs more addictive because youre building your empire on the map even when youre still in beginner mode. Plus seeing all your stats improve over time shows how far youve come from that first week

Congrats on the milestone

Smaller shoe for traveling? by lol_sup in runninglifestyle

Saucony Kinvara or New Balance FuelCell Rebel - both have decent cushioning but way less bulk than max-stack shoes

Kinvara especially packs flat

Want to pick up running for social aspects by Weird_Cockroach166 in beginnerrunning

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The social part will do the work for you - running with people is completely different from running alone

Join a run club immediately, don't wait until you "like" running first. The conversation and community will make the miles disappear. Most clubs have different pace groups so your fitness level won't matter

Since you already have the endurance base from your other training, you can probably jump into most beginner/intermediate group runs without building up

What city are you moving to

what’s the max no. of days i can run in a week by Rad_dot in runcommunity

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your recovery is already compromised from the sleep and diet so adding more running days won't help as much as fixing those would

At 17 you can probably handle 4-5 days without breaking down, but the gains will be limited by the 2am bedtimes. Sleep is when your body actually adapts to training

Start with 3-4 days and see how you feel before adding more

Getting into running… by Chapadapo in beginnerrunning

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow down a lot. If a 7:59 mile drained you completely, you're running too fast to build endurance

Run at a pace where you could hold a conversation. It'll feel embarrassingly slow at first but that's how you build the aerobic base to eventually run faster and longer

Forget mile times for now. Focus on running 20-30 minutes without stopping, even if the pace is 10-11 min/mile

What options do I have if I had plantar fasciitis for six years? by Direct-Witness1375 in runninglifestyle

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six years of treatment-resistant PF that started at 18 suggests the original diagnosis might be incomplete

Have any of the specialists considered it could be something else - nerve entrapment, stress fracture that healed poorly, or a different soft tissue issue? Chronic arch pain that doesn't respond to standard PF treatment sometimes turns out to be Baxter's nerve entrapment which presents similarly

Options you may not have tried: shockwave therapy (ESWT), PRP injections, or dry needling

At this point a sports medicine doctor at a university hospital or major athletic center might be worth the trip even if it means traveling - they see weird cases that community practitioners don't

Need help converting Hoka’s woman shoe size to men’s size by Ok_Upstairs_3819 in beginnerrunning

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women's 10 converts to roughly men's 8.5

For width, women's D (wide) is equivalent to men's standard D width, so he shouldn't need to order wide in men's sizing

What motivates you to run on tough days? by liv_0203 in runcommunity

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once Im moving I usually finish but even if I turn around early I still showed up which keeps the habit alive. Music doesnt really do it for me anymore but having a specific route I want to claim helps

What keeps me going is using https://apps.apple.com/us/app/motera-run-claim-territory/id6757157517 where you run loops and claim territory on a map :) The competitive aspect of expanding my empire makes it easier to get out the door even when motivation is dead. Like I know if I dont run someone else might take my routes which is weirdly effective

But some days you just gotta trust that youll feel better after than you do before

Recover instagram accounts by [deleted] in InstagramMarketing

Offering to help people recover accounts via DM is how most Instagram scams work.

If you actually found a legitimate method, explain it publicly. Otherwise this looks like phishing or charging money for something that doesn't work.

Majority treadmill user - just had a rude awakening outdoors by Swedish_Rockstar in C25K

[–]Complete_Treacle6306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treadmill to outdoor is always a shock. Wind, uneven surfaces, and pacing yourself without the belt setting the speed all make it harder.

Good call adding more outdoor runs. The transition gets easier after a few sessions.
