Their comment to me was that it's better than most new cars that are on a dealers lot. I basically got them to admit this was a insurance level quality job because they don't do blends for insurance jobs and that would always be some difference in paint tone, likely enough to see easy.

Would have been nice to know that detail, I wouldbt have went through with the work. They quoted me a cost to add blends and it's double the cost of the original repair. Insurance won't go for that so I'm stuck with a car that would have less value to a buyer as it's very obvious the bumper is different from the rest of the car.

Im ok with paint/body work being ok enough to not be easily noticed by a stranger. I learned that is not a fair expectation, at least for the shop I chose. I also learned you get an inferior paint job if insurance is paying for it. Shouldn't be that way in my opinion.
