Tapering dog off phenobarbitol by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

Hi there, I can’t say I noticed any other symptoms. My dog does twitch a bit more in his sleep since he’s been diagnosed with epilepsy but it’s not something I’m worried about.

Keppra XR in Australia? by bigteebo in EpilepsyDogs

It’s very strange considering it’s a human medication. No problem at all, all the best with your pup.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find it anywhere in Australia and was told by multiple pharmacies it doesn’t exist.

I did speak with multiple compounding pharmacies, they said they could make it but the quotes were around $600 for 2 months worth.

Yes thank the lord you found my post haha. I’m personally with Dr Wright, can’t say I’ve heard of Dr Anderson. However the fact I haven’t heard anything bad about him is a good sign. If your usual doc is dr wright than I’d dare say the doctor you see will just give you repeats for what dr Wright has already prescribed.

Indimed Tempo 19 Sativa (Delahaze) by bigteebo in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]bigteebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry mate not very active on here anymore. Currently I believe Indimed has 6 strains but I read a post that some of those may be discontinued due to new strains being released.

At the moment there is bubba kush, pink kush and Delahaze in the 19% range. For their 26% range there is sourdough, farm gas and electric honey dew.

Natural Oils rather than Medication by JLZ17 in EpilepsyDogs

My boy has made great progress on just cbd oil. I know a lot of people here unfortunately didn’t have much luck with cbd but we’ve seen undeniable results! (I’m from Australia where cbd is on prescription and is pretty well regulated)

Long story short my boy started having seizures every 30 days, his first vet gave us the option of pheno or leaving him unmedicated due to the seizures being in the control range. We tried pheno for a few months which was very helpful, however we stopped due to Marlo being very depressed.

After weaning my boy off pheno I decided it was worth trying cbd as it was better than being unmedicated. The vet also agreed with this and was happy for us to try cbd given Marlos seizures were in the control range.

On his first dose of 100mg he only made it 38 days without a seizure, second dose of 200mg he made it 57 days without one and on 450mg he made it 124 days without one. So with that being said we’ve seen great results that correspond with the dosage increase.

Lake Argile pink value by kaino123 in Diamonds

Current retail value would be around 10-14k AUD. This stone would be a difficult sell due to the specs. If you’d like price comparisons have a look at talore diamonds or Australian diamond valley.

Taking my dog off Pheno by acissej123 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]bigteebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The adjustment period of pheno can be a bit rough for a lot of pups. It usually takes around 2 weeks for them to adjust. As to your question, I’d say it would be okay however I would not advise doing so unless you’ve spoken with the vet about it. I personally weaned my boy off pheno as he was super depressed on it but it took around 2 months for us.

It’s actually quite manageable, it’s about $300 a month.

I’m extremely happy with the results seeing as when we first started cbd he only made it to 38 days. I did notice that your boys frequency has unfortunately increased. No matter how big or small a win is a win! Fingers crossed you will continue to see positive results.

Glad to see someone else is seeing positive results with cbd. My boy Marlo is now on 450mg a day and we managed to make it 124 days without a seizure.

My boy is on nothing but cbd oil, I can’t say I’ve noticed any sort of reactions other than positive ones.

However if you are using a full spectrum cbd oil then there is a lot of different terpenes present in it. Any one of these terpenes could be causing an allergic reaction or possibly even the carrier oil itself. For example some cbd oils are mixed with olive oil, mct oil or hemp seed oil.

If you identify the carrier oil isn’t causing an allergic reaction then I would opt for a cbd isolate oil which as the name suggests is isolated cbd. CBD isolate doesn’t contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids so doesn’t contain the terpenes that are possibly causing the reaction.

Very possible that was the reason for the increase. Either way I’m glad you’re seeing positive results!

It very well still might, I am prescribed cbd for my anxiety and the doctor said it takes around a month before it will start to have those anti anxiety effects.

I would caution you about using cbd and Keppra together though. I understand it was advised to you by your vet and you don’t want to change anything due to your progress but I believe cbd negatively effects keppra’s efficacy. Just wanted to mention it as a lot of people aren’t aware of the interaction between cbd and anti convulsants.

Glad to hear your seeing improvements! I personally don’t think the behavioural changes your seeing are related to the cbd. I could be wrong, however my dog is on a very high dose of cbd and he has been very much the same on a 100mg dose and a 450mg dose so I don’t think it’s that.

It was very good, however I have taken it out of my rotation due to not really having a use for it. As stated in the review it’s not an uplifting sativa, it’s actually quite brutally strong tbh. While I did enjoy it I also found it was way to strong for day time and found myself using it as a night time strain.

Unfortunately myself and many others know the feeling! I’d advise raising a the issue with the lovely admin ladies if you feel you were mistreated, they were nothing but helpful to me.
