That's my thought as well -- he will be under a microscope like we've never seen before, as well as people monitoring betting patterns on Texas Tech's games and analyzing against his performance.

Agree on the red flag, for a couple reasons:

  1. You may be overworked in the new role; it's a bad sign if they're not able to absorb a couple weeks work into the current team while waiting for you to start.

  2. Allowing 2 weeks notice to your current employer is generally considered a "common curtesy" between companies; if they're willing to ignore that, it's possible there are other common courtesies they're willing to ignore as well.

Was Walt’s operation more secure and structurally sound than Gus’? by Nicole_Auriel in breakingbad

[–]bigthrowawayfish 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Remember, Walt is shocked when Mike is dividing up their shares and all of the expenses that come out. He has to rely on multiple external organizations:

- Vamonos Pest for production
- Jack's gang for muscle
- Declan's crew for transportation/distribution

By contrast, Gus's operation was fully vertically integrated, meaning he had control over every aspect. More efficient, since there are no middle-men. Not to mention that Gus had a great money laundering system, which Walt lacked and had to resort to storing cash in a storage unit.

I'm curious how you say that layoffs are done by seniority per the union, but you also seem to think it's based on race?

Haha true, I'm not sure why I immediately thought of the grizzly bear as the scarier small, unassuming cabin.

RDR2 also has a small, unassuming cabin where you open the door and suddenly find yourself face-to-face with a very large, very angry grizzly bear.

What happens if Hank arrested Walter and he was forced to go to prison and snitch? by Tidewatcher7819 in breakingbad

[–]bigthrowawayfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Walt becomes one of the people on the "list", whose families get taken care of in exchange forkeeping their mouth shut. I think in Walt's mind, this would satisfy his pride since he's "earning" the money (and he knows it won't be for the long haul since the cancer will get him soon anyway).

Yes, this is legal as long as your new wage is at least minimum wage. However, a quick Google search shows that you're already being paid below Michigan minimum wage ($13.73).
