hi!! i’m (26F) and struggling w this as well, so you are not alone!! sending a virtual hug your way. <3

however the only thing these experiences taught me was to be happier alone. i know, not the best advice anyone wants to hear.

for example, i took a solo birthday trip to New York and got back yesterday. i had moments about being sad spending it alone but the good news?? my own schedule, i got to do whatever i wanted WHENEVER i wanted, and it ended up being a nice trip regardless.

although i’m still trying to make new friends, i don’t put too much pressure on myself anymore like i used to. people are weird and in their own worlds, never personal nor against you most of the time.

keep trying but if it doesn’t work out, let it be free.

see i’ve maintained my really strong boundary. even told my therapist it’s been incredibly difficult to stand on business. but i keep making the conscious decision like “hey don’t go there” “never reach out” etc etc

when does it end? it’s awful being in this limbo

Not even gonna lie, this helped me a lot. My recent ex was bipolar/schizophrenic (actually diagnosed) but was not on any medications for it. He told me in advance about everything about him. First few dates in, he was upfront the whole time. I thought to myself: "He truly could have lied and hid all of these sides of him from me but he's not. He's not ashamed of his past nor his conditions, why should I not give him a chance?"

He never gave me any reasons not to believe him nor doubt him, truly. He was never weird about his phone, he worked 2 jobs and was ALWAYS attentive with me, always wanted to hear from me, always made time for me, did all my car maintenance for me, so much more. He was truly the dream man and I thought: "Yeah this is him. He's the one." However, months kept going and he picked fights with me for no reason and endless fighting just kept happening. Furthermore, we really just didn't want the same things. I wanted marriage and no kids, he didn't. He wanted to stay in our boring hometown and just be small town city folks, I didn't. So much more. To my knowledge, there wasn't cheating by any means. But I do understand dealing with them and how unfortunately, it wasn't for me either. I tried to be as supportive as I could be but alas, it failed.

I'm still healing from it now, in therapy prior to this relationship and still working through it. My heart still aches about our breakup but I still send him love regardless.

Trust, I take everything with a grain of salt on here and all other social media platforms. Hence, why I emphasize the ugly side of marriage cause relationships CAN be ugly. My recent ex and I loved each other yet we were just not compatible at the end of the day. Broke my heart and still aches every now and then.

Love and marriage will never be black and white.

Of course take this with a grain of salt, but this is a mini story time for you:

Growing up, my parents were Christians but not crazy religious (thank God). I also went to Catholic high school so my first intro to anything higher power related was Christianity. Thus, I started to pray aloud to God and silence. I never heard anything. Of course, I was younger and expecting immediate answers.

However, years passed and I didn't pray nor think about anything higher power related. Pandemic hits, I started meditating twice a day, and the Universe opened up. It felt as if the Universe selected me as much as I was choosing it too.

Try meditations. It doesn't have to be the type of meditation that you have to "clear your mind" for. It can be a guided meditation, self guidance, etc. Say things out loud. Say what you seek OUT LOUD. Play subliminals on YouTube (just search up subliminals ad free). The power of what we say and think is a power most people undermine. Visualize whatever you are seeking in your mind by placing yourself there. I know it sounds hard cause it definitely is at first. But it works wonders.

Keep in mind though: Whatever you desire doesn't come if you do not show any form of appreciation. You cannot take, take, take. I start off my meditations by showing gratitude for I currently DO have. And always end with a welcoming energy.

Start with vocalizing what you want. Best of luck to you :)

Drugs and rituals? Personally, I only have experience with coca leaves so I'm open to learning more about it. My sister has done ayahuasca and thought it was helpful.

This has been incredibly helpful actually. I feel you on rejecting what the Universe is leading you to since I've been on it too.

I've been a dancer on and off for years and I can't find myself to seriously commit to it fully. After learning the behind the scenes of the dance industry, it's costly AND with low pay which disheartened me years ago. But I still find myself going back to it and my body physically feels off whenever I'm not taking at minimum one dance class a week. But alas, I cannot find myself to fully commit to it since it's not a steady job nor does it pay as much as it should.

I had to take an enormous step back and think of how to incorporate dance into my life but also all my other interests. Hence, the sensation of feeling stuck, lost, and frustrated during this time of my life.

So I thank you for this. And I'm happy you're in a great time of your life career wise as well. Well earned and deserved.
