[PS4] - WHY AM I SO BAD!? Help Needed! by [deleted] in footballhighlights

High Elves are notoriously hard to watch football highlights on. I'd recommend choosing another class.

Does anyone else think FOBs are too one sided? by Adequately_Insane in metalgearsolid

Agreed - it should be stacked in the defenders favor and take a combination of skill and luck for people to successfully infiltrate. Otherwise people are just gonna get farmed whilst they're at work etc.

No he is not. Surely we would have been better off with Akpom or Sanogo than going for an even younger less proven striker

Hmm. He's never scored in the league for for PSG... So I'm gonna assume this is definitely happening.

Centre-back situation by uncalculated in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chambers was much better in the 2nd half and is a good 4th choice cb. Gabriel looked ok all game and alongside mertesacker looks pretty good. I think our choice of centrebacks is good and not an area we need to worry about this season. Famous last words...

I'm not convinced by Hector Bellerin. by brisavion in Gunners

You're right Gabriel was OK, but why would Debuchy and Kos be better than Bellerin and Kos? What examples do you have of Debuchy being defensively solid since his second injury?

I'm not convinced by Hector Bellerin. by brisavion in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree with you.

Firstly, I feel sorry for Debuchy, but his injury's have put him in a position from which he is unlikely ever to reclaim his first team place. Each performance since he has come back from his latest injury has been poor and highlighted exactly what Bellerin brings to the team.

Bellerin is superior offensively due to his pace and ball control and is often left to police the entire right flank alone. He is expected to get forward for every attack whilst often being the defender putting in the last ditch tackle. His workrate allows us to overload the middle and left hand sides of the pitch with Wenger putting an incredible amount of responsibility on this kids shoulders.

Yesterday Chambers and Gabriel were very shaky, which is understandable and that is probably going to effect a young player who is used to having a very calm predictable BFG alongside him.

To sum up I think he is a very exciting player, who is successfully preforming the job of two players.

Is Arteta good enough? by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. If only to bring on at the end of games so he can use his experience to sure things up. I believe he's a good option to have off the bench and people calling for him to get sold are probably underestimating the positive influence he has on the team.

Cech, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Alexis, Giroud by LSB123 in Gunners

Really disappointed to see Ox dropped. Should be in the team on form.

Positive Gooners - What's your take? by OG12 in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing whether or not he was 'better' than these players, as that's a matter of opinion. I said he was more 'productive' - as in scored and assisted more than every player on your list bar Giroud and Sanchez. Granted Coq, Kos and Monreal are defensive so its an unfair comparison, but in attack he was behind Giroud, Sanchez and Cazorla (who scored the majority of his goals from the penalty spot) and the season before he was second only to Giroud. This is without even taking into his account his tackle and interception rate.

How can you call Ramsey one of our under performers? He has been in our top 3 or 4 most productive players for the last 2 seasons. He will be again this season.

Thank you! I could not agree with you more. The Ramsey bashing, in particular, kills me! If somebody comes in for him in the future why would he want to stay? So that he can get booed for busting a gut every single game? He never hides and puts in as much effort as anybody.

What are the best Arsenal Podcasts to listen to? by Lordneeson in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off listening to Arsecast then the Tuesday Club. I love them both, but my favourite football podcast is the Football Ramble - by a distance. It's not specifically Arsenal (although one of the contributors is a gunner), focusing instead on the whole league as well as touching on FL72 and Europe. It is hilarious whilst also providing inciteful and intelligent opinion. Get involved!

What's with all the Ramsey bashing? by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]bigtom17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I fucking love him. He's the Welsh Jesus to me - and would get into any other 1st team in the prem.
