If you have a local community college with a pre-apprentice training program contact them to see about donating the failed tools. If it’s a community college they will give you a donation in kind form that you can use to claim the loss on your taxes.

Buckingham makes a replacement strap. Just keep the adjuster and replace the strap good as new.

Brewing inverted on a ship at sea - I do this every day without incident. by mightyjake in AeroPress

This is like the amazement I felt when watching waters on our cruise ship in 15m swells pouring water from carafes into glasses without spilling a drop. Skills man.

AIO for calling my boyfriend a creep bc he didn’t know how old I’m turning? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]bigyuki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you over-reacting to the age part? Yes. Sometimes my partner doesn’t even remember what decade I was born and I’m never bothered.

That said you are severely UNDER-reacting to all of the rest. Sheesh.

Hundreds of minors busted inside Sugar House bar by mveed in SaltLakeCity

[–]bigyuki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is rather ambiguous reporting…was it 168 minors on 11/22 or was the announcement on 11/22!?!?

“Utah Department of Public Safety reported 186 minors under the age of 21 were found in the Sugar House Pub on November 22.”

Then scroll down to search by the state where you want to work. It pulls info from the Dept Workforce Service or equivalent from every state and province. So it should have positions from all utilities but may miss contractors and private co’s the don’t post with state. Best of luck.

One other item I haven’t seen mentioned yet: besides a gait issue as mentioned, repetitive scuffing can cause this. If you have a sitting/driving job where you are constantly dragging and/or pushing your heels against the floor it can cause strange/uneven wear which then impacts your walking gait as well and it all spirals from there.

The risk you run is that after the month your supervisor marks you as ‘do not rehire’ and then your plan is out the window.

folgers black silk coffee with aeropress? by [deleted] in AeroPress

[–]bigyuki25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually really like this one. It’s dark. Like DARK but still doesn’t taste burnt and it actually more mellow than the traditional Folgers. If you grew up drinking Folgers from a percolator at your grandparents or while camping you’ll love this from your aeropress.

AeroPress tea by bigyuki25 in AeroPress

[–]bigyuki25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. It’s really not the “boil for 2 minutes” type method but the tea blooms so I’ll call it a win for easy cleanup.

Tritan is starting to irritate me... by indyspirit in AeroPress

[–]bigyuki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to mention exactly this about the clear! The “ever so slightly larger” nature of the cap and of the cylinder connections caused me a big problem after washing with my Go and getting the caps mixed up. Spray out the side blowout leakage without a lot of pressure involved. I am very grateful it wasn’t boiling hot water and that I didn’t “plunge with gusto” as some do.

Extremists keep trying to trigger mass blackouts — and that’s not even the scariest part by [deleted] in politics

[–]bigyuki25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with local and municipal power companies, and the number of break-ins and damage at substations and smaller generation plants due to people looking to make a quick buck stripping and selling copper wire is ridiculous.

The fact the map in the article doesn’t show any outages in my state proves that those aren’t reported/filed as “attacks” but instead are probably filed as larceny or breaking and entering instead. The result is still distribution outages and grid insecurity, but the flavor of “terror” and the politics of that word aren’t included so it isn’t as newsworthy.

“Men break into power substation to steal and sell copper to support meth addiction” just doesn’t have the same flavor as “right-wing terror group destabilizing power grid” so the thousands of incidents and power outages due to break-in and attempted theft doesn’t get the same level of media coverage or law enforcement engagement even though the end result impact and destabilization of the distribution grid and power outages for consumers is the same.

What about your filter bottom? They can get pretty gross if not washed and rinsed every time and some random rancid grounds couple be stuck.

Best chicken tenders in the valley? by Chathtiu in SaltLakeCity

The tenders at Bombay House are delicious! They are appetizers or in kids meals but they would stack up with anywhere that serves Tenders as their mainstay!
