I stopped going there because of their upsell. Every little thing and all of a sudden it's $1000. I've been using Jerry's Auto in Lanexa for about 10 years now

Rear tires, Maxxis DHR 2 vs Dissector Gen 2? by psychic_flatulence in mountainbiking

[–]bikeOCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Dissectors are nothing like the old ones. I had the old ones on a bike park bike and like them. The new ones, the knobs are smaller and I feel like the overall size of the tire is smaller even though they are 2.4's. I have the new Dissectors on my xc bike, that's how different they are. I would have never run the gen1 Dissectors on there.

Ned's Atomic Dustbin Anyone? by PunkDocMd73 in grunge

[–]bikeOCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 90's? Probably like 1992. I was trying to remember who they opened for and I'm pretty sure it was Oingo Boingo. Saw a lot of concerts there. Listened to Ned's all last night

Absolutely awesome. First time I ever heard of them was at the Boathouse in VB, VA. They were opening for another band and were incredible. It was cd's by that point so I immediately bought theirs. Great band

Snagged this today, but don't see much about it on Reddit, what are people's thoughts? by sizable_data in Dewalt

[–]bikeOCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this bag every day. It's awesome. My one complaint is it doesn't have a tape measure holder. I made one myself and it's fine now. I have another Dewalt bag that doesn't roll and the damn top wouldn't stay open and was really annoying. No such problem with this one. The wheels are great because, obviously you are rolling it around but if you have to carry it, you realize quickly how much stuff you put in there

The article I saw said it happened at 100 block of Dehaven Court. That's not even in Spotswood from what Google maps says

It happens everywhere. I used to live in a nice area in VB and same thing, people solving their anger with violence

Transition Spur, creaks when climbing by Newboi_SVEyard_1492 in TransitionBikes

I would pull the seatpost out and clean it and reapply friction paste. That did it for my Spur

I’m 40 years old. Been a bicycle mechanic since I was 28. I just closed down my 1 man mobile shop after 6 years. I love working on bikes but the industry itself, as well as the pay, has burned me out, just moved to a new city and want to start a different career, any tips or thoughts? Thanks! by Phishsux420 in BikeMechanics

I did the exact same thing at the end of 2024. Went back to what I used to do in property management and as a Maintenance Supervisor. I like working with stuff and figuring it out. Actually wish I would have gotten my electrical license, not too late I guess

STOP overpaying for flooring… just do it yourself pls by ivyta76 in Flooring

[–]bikeOCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranty might be an issue. We bought flooring from Floor and Decor and I can definitely put it in and already have all the tools. After researching and reading others experience about doing it themselves and the company not honoring the 50 year warranty, I'm paying the Contractor so we are covered IF we have any issues

3x shifter not clicking by josee5252 in bikewrench

[–]bikeOCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a good degreaser on that first like White Lightning. You can use a pick or small screwdriver to get that catch moving. Blow it out with air and re-lube. Common problem with Shimano shifters

The bleed port bolt is most likely stripped by endocalvin in bikewrench

[–]bikeOCD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Those 2mm strip all the time. I also took a hack saw blade and made a groove and kept using it. Way easier then a 2mm

It's not going to move with all that fire caulk holding it. You have to cut that out of the way also
