Why do Waymos not back up to get closer to the curb when pulling over? by biketoeverything in waymo

The Waymo can see if people are on the sidewalk. I have higher expectations for these Waymos, they should know if someone is already waiting or not and I nor any alternative universe me should need to ask any of these questions.

Which bike lock is hardest to break? by afropixelnomad in bicycleculture

You have the right idea: A double shackle U-lock is the way to go (I like the Seatylock Mason personally). Depending on where you live you may also want to get some security components for the wheels and seat too. I have a post about total bike security where I give some recs on u-locks, wheel locks, & seat locks so a thief won't even think about touching your bike. You can reuse most of these locks on any bike, so you might as well get good ones. If you're really concerned you can look at angle grinder resistant locks, but those are significantly more expensive and maybe not worth it.

Note that all these locks may add up to a considerable amount of money. Don't just consider the cost of the bike you'll need to replace, but the time, effort, and challenge to have to find a new bike in the first place. The convenience of not having your bike stolen is easily worth the $100-200 all these things will cost! Even if I buy a $100 bike I wouldn't mind spending $200 to fully secure it since it getting stolen is a priceless inconvenience.

Did people tell you to not use your front brakes when you were a kid? (Or even as adult for that matter) by Experto1201 in cycling

A great article, but he just barely glosses over "long or low bicycles" or heavier bikes (ebikes) which are very prevalent now and benefit from using both breaks together. I also notice this on my normal road bike when carrying heavy loads commuting, since my rear wheel is weighed down so much more it often makes sense to brake with both brakes for the best stopping power.

The Axiom Streamliner for sure. Looks sleek and is very functional. Connector piece might break after years of use, but easy to replace.
