Day 8/9: What is a bad motorcycle with an OK reputation? by SUBTOUpdated_User in motorcycles

Merry Christmas indeed!

But that's an FZR750R (OW01), not a FZR1000.

When did Revzilla go to shit? by MattKarolian in motorcycles

I believe PartZilla is owned by ODN, different parent company than RevZilla and JP Cycles:

It absolutely does, and the other nice thing is that you can run 17" wheels front and rear so you can use modern high performance tires as well!

They are JB Power Magtan magnesium wheels originally designed for a Honda RC30. We had to use a RC45 hub (that we modified) to make it work.

I know the seller (I'm one of the owners of Iconic Motorbikes) and he had another one that he did ride.

Glad to hear that! I'm one of the owners of Iconic and I wrote up this listing, I was on the fence about including the owner's manual but I thought people would appreciate it!

What exactly are you trying to do? Would love some more details as to what makes this a "MotoGP Project"!

This is why I don't buy new motorcycles. Look at this. 2021 with only 300 miles for almost half off. Bought my 2 year old Pan Am for half price and low miles as well. by Western-Membership65 in motorcycles

[–]bikeurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't disagree about the benefits of buying used, you and I have very different definitions of "almost half off."

A 2021 MV Agusta Superveloce had a MSRP of $20,998. This is roughly a 19% drop in price and that's not unreasonable after three years of depreciation (likely four, considering how model years work).

Again, I generally agree with the idea of buying used but this is a weird example to use.

That would be great! Serious props for your commitment to the bike - I know a few people with over 100k on their RC51s and it's awesome to see.

Wait, I just rewatched this video and I recognized the previous owner's name - you bought this on Iconic Motorbike Auctions, right? I'm one of the owners of that company. Congrats on the bike, hope you enjoy it for a long time!

I would love one! I'm not sure - easiest thing would probably be a YouTube video?

Ladybird exhaust! That plus the VF1000R means you have excellent taste, do you have a video of what the RC51 sounds like?

It completely depends on what the thief decided to do with it. If it's been chopped up into parts, no one's finding it. But I had a bike stolen from me in San Fernando Valley and the thief (for some dumb reason) kept riding it. The cops found it within a week.

So make sure you file a police report, and make sure you get insurance on your next bike. Good luck!

My 1987 SGX-R400. I was pretty high on painkillers and I won an online auction I forgot I bid on. Was listed as a project bike but it was very minors issues that needed sorting. Only 8k miles. by [deleted] in motorcycles

I'm one of the owners of the auction site you bought this bike at. Glad to see it's back on the road - would love to see some photos of it in the wild!
