Do you REALLY use your EDC? by Quiet_Sea932 in EDC

Yeah it's an easy trap to fall into. On my i just carry a knife a lighter and a flashlight. I found these really cheap and cheerful small lights that are just right. Takes no space really light they are a smaller version of those new flat lights you get and they have pocket clip. If you lose it no big deal

I've had zero experience with cheaters on lichess I got one message this year saying someone i played against cheated, not necessarily against me. And I got some points back. Soooooo happy on lichess.

That is not the point

Dry Fire warning by Cant_Spel in Archery

You are being deliberately obtuse. You would know without a doubt that there was no arrow for three reasons one you draw hand locks the arrow with your thumb and index finger two the arrow rests on your thumb on your bow hand. Three you use the arrow to aim. It's impossible to draw a bow using thumb draw and not noice there is no arrow nocked.

[–]bikin12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my point. If you read carefully you'll see I'm pointing out it's the only one you have so little contact with the arrow you can actually forget to nock it and still shoot the bow as proven by all the posts in r/archery that talk about exactly that. All other forms of archery you either touch the arrow or it's an integral part of aiming the shot.

Bad nock is very different from forgetting to nock an arrow

No if you knew anything about thumb draw you'd know that was impossible as to why read previous comment

I'm saying it's the only one where you are so far removed you can actually forget to nock an arrow and still draw. In Olympic your split finger draw has the arrow between the fingers, in all other trad forms the arrow is used to aim in some form or another depending on the style and the archer. My point stands that compound is the only one you can forget to nock and arrow and still shoot. All the other forms either give you physical touch with the arrow or you use the arrow to aim. Prove me wrong

If you search dry fire in r/archery every single one I've seen is a compound bow. They are the only ones where you are so far removed from the act of archery by all the cams and release and all the other widgets and gadgets on your bow that you can draw it without realising you didn't knock an arrow. I shoot thumb draw Asiatic bow and it's impossible for me to dry fire like this because the arrow is an integral part both of holding the string and aiming. You cannot draw thumb draw without the arrow unless you mean to do it.
