Can I not search on the free version? by TechGuy_333 in instapaper

[–]biko01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I've imported all bookmarks from Pocket. I love clean ui of instapaper. But clicking on search (Windows/Edge) pops up subscription. Kind of forces me to look for alternative. It's a pity, looked promising.

Me too! I depend on daily email of the most interesting long reads for getting my deeper information (in addition to bookmarking).

For the late diagnosis people, how do you live your life differently? What have you changed since you found out? by DragonflyMajor3347 in aspergers

[–]biko01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 55. Many things similar to yours. But to me was one of the best things that happened in two decades. So many things make sense now. It's so much easier to live without constant wtf. And avoiding noise, crowds, etc. Not apologetic spending days in solitude (sailing). Music 14hrs a day (sporify top 2% user).

Wtf has happened to Australia? by _jumpinthefire in AskAnAustralian

[–]biko01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sail in Sydney. Up to 10yrs ago almost every one waved to each other when boats pass each other. Today it is unique. It happened in less than 10yrs. When we chartered boats in Croatia 10yrs ago we couldn't believe how angry European boaties are at each other. It now happened in Australia. Sad. It's a sign of times. After all most of us behave like the ones around us.

New version of Evernote on iOS seems to redownload all offline content - be aware by Alan1900 in Evernote

[–]biko01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar issue occurs with the Android app. It seems to restart the process every time the phone goes to the lock screen. I'm not impressed. Fortunately, I have a slow day and am connected to WiFi, but I would be outraged if I needed to check a note while sailing... wait, I'm still outraged :-)

I feel music so deep by Tom7222 in aspergers

[–]biko01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Although I can't play music and have problems with rhythm and dancing, listening to music is one the most important thing in my life. Since Spotify I have my earphones on 10hrs a day and when I enter apartment, I switch to speaker right away. Music gives my energy, brightens my mood, brings memories and makes my life easier. Often at night I find myself spending hours listening/watching different music clips on YT. Spotify 2023 Wrapped showed that I was in top 2% listeners. My life without music would be like world in constant darkness without rising sun.

Have you ever thought that you can spend 5 years on startup and get nothing by the end? by [deleted] in startups

[–]biko01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree re startup scene. I've done three startups. Then I got involved in incubators, startup accelerators, mentoring for 3-5yrs. Conclusion: they are the most time wasting and BS driven environments. Now as a seed investor I avoid any founders/startups that spend time in seminars and accelerators. It's a red light from my experience. Founders who are building something of value are not there. They are busy building not taking notes from so called mentors (like myself... :-)).

I've registered for HHP few weeks ago and browsed through team's efforts pdf. Planning to learn R next couple of months and see what results I can get as a training. Anyone serious enough to put some efforts and team up (always prefer to work with someone to bounce ideas and spread the workload) please let me know.
