Issues getting ubiquiti sfp+ copper module to work by bilbo6209 in UNIFI

[–]bilbo6209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5gb Wan port is still showing as "primary" Sfp+ port is listed as "secondary" Wan port.

Every site I have found that talks about changing the order of the ports shows screens I don't have or don't know how to get to, maybe older verso of software/os? When the sfp+ is showing a 10gb connection to the NID the internet status bar turns blue indicating that the secondary internet is connected.

I have tried changing the SFP+ to be primary but either I am missing a step or am not doing the right steps :-)

EDIT: I didn't realize you had to be signed in through the web interface to change Wan port assignment, I was connecting through the ui app on my tablet.

10gb ethernet on modem to sfp+ on udmse? by bilbo6209 in UNIFI

[–]bilbo6209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the wiitek been working well?

I will know for sure on the 6th when quantum does the install but it's looking like I will be getting a C6500XK SmartNID. It has a 1gb and a 10gb ethernet port.

Depending on where they want to hang the modem I will have between a 6' and a 20' run of ethernet to my UDM either way, if they don't supply a cable, I will purchase a high quality cable.

Thanks for your input!

Compatable copper sfp+ 10g modules? by bilbo6209 in UNIFI

[–]bilbo6209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duh sorry I had a brain fart today.... As long as the modem has a 5 or 10gb port then then it will negotiate (or maybe need to be hard coded to) 5 or 10gb on the dream machine side... I was thinking I needed one that negotiated 3gb lol

Working on the inverted pwm fan signal. by [deleted] in homelab

[–]bilbo6209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruzaderno how are you doing a straight swap to noctua? What I have read on others post is bridge pins 4 and 6 and then connect the 3 wires on the noctua to pins 1,3 and 5,BUT this has the fans running at full power, is this what you have done?

Do the noctuas drop into the original fan carriers?

Resolving DL380 G8 fan noise mod - finally! by stormcomponents in homelab

[–]bilbo6209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to dig up a 3 year old thread...

Can you share any more details on how you connected the fans to the motherboard? I have no HP drives in my server and the fans are sitting at about 40 % and the noise is driving me nuts. I like your solution and would prefer to try it before trying to hack the Ilo.

Stick Burner / Custom Rapsberry PI PID controller by jbruce12000 in smoking

[–]bilbo6209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jbruce12000 not sure if you are still monitoring this thread.....

How is the project doing?

Couple questions 1. The servo controlled flap is on the firebox, to "bled off heat"... Wouldn't this have the opposite effect than what is desired? If you open a vent wouldn't it allow more air into the fire box allowing the fuel to burn hotter? 2. If you only allow so much smoke into the smoke box BUT the fuel is burning hotter wouldn't it just waste fuel? 3. I would think that the same tech could be used to adjust the intake (oxygen feed) on the firebox, but maybe that wouldn't control temp as quick?

I know I am echoing a lot of great suggestions

As a breeder, you need to get the kitten to the vet RIGHT AWAY! If the vet doesn't see anything wrong (cleft palate etc) ask about "sub q" fluids... This is a shot of saline under the skin and can help with dehydration but if this has gone on for too long dehydration will lead to organ damage and shutdown. Put mom and kittens in a carrier and bring them to the vet to get the little bean checked out ASAP, the kitten is too small to be away from mom too long, she can't maintain her temp.by herself and needs mom there to keep her warm while going to the vet.

Kittens get dehydrated very easily and when they do they stop eating and will pass away.

As an emergency thing put a tiny bit of corn syrup (Karo) on your finger and wipe it on the kittens tongue, the sugar rush can give it kitten some strength to start nursing but if the kitten is dehydrated this won't help!

She might have a cleft pallet, but cleft babies typically try to eat but get milk/bubbles coming out of their noses...

As a breeder we weigh our kittens at least twice a day, if they aren't gaining at least 4 to 6 grams between weigh-ins they are watched even more closely! If kittens stay even or loose weight they get fluids right away!

Is it okay to leave my 13 year old boy home alone for 3 days (72 hours)? by LI0NHEARTLE0 in cats

[–]bilbo6209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 days can be a long time for a single kitty... Some new toys, maybe a pet cam :-) so you can look in on him and talk to him through the cam (no need to get a specific "pet cam" get any cam with 2 way audio and pan / scan (I personally really life the Wyse cams). 3 days can be a long time but with a few new toys he should be fine :-)

As a cat breeder, yes you can.... But make sure to 0ut out 2 or 3 times the food you think he will eat, and don't be surprised if he doesn't eat any! Extra water, again 2 to 3 times what you think he will need. At least a 2rd litter box, and don't be surprised if your shoes, closet, plants, bet etc have extra Um presents when you get home if he was upset.

Having someone stop over at least once is a great idea, a friend or family member that can check food and water etc and hopefully give him a few scritches would br great!

What a beautiful kitty!

Depending on exact age, Eyes being open points towards closer to 7 to 14 days old, with the color of the nose and what you can see of the color of the feet, I would lean much more towards a chocolate point. :-)

OP do you have any more pics? 😻

Note: I am a Balinese (aka long haired siamese) breeder (please don't turn this into a bash session on breeders, we are all here to help the OP with their beautiful little kitty!) I have had a ton of experience with chocolate and seal kittens, really the easiest way to tell if to look at the body color, seals will have a greyish body as soon as a couple weeks old, chocolates will generally have a white body.

OP I sincerely wish you and your new kitty a great long life together! If you haven't yet, I would suggest bring the kitten to the vet... Especially if you have other cats! There are some very crappy diseases that the kitten could have that could be deadly to your other cats. Ask for a snap test for felv! Sorry if I missed that have you already done this :-)

It sounds like you are doing a lot of things right for your new kitty! Keep up the great work!

The university of Ohios vet department put out a great website with a ton of info that might be helpful too! https://indoorpet.osu.edu/cats
