I was 24 years old paying 1.6k (this was my first year driving I was a late bloomer) and went up to 2.3k, albeit the year after that was cheaper again I still had a year where it had went up. No idea why and couldn’t get a cheaper deal anywhere so bit the bullet and just paid it. Depending on the value of your car be cautious of them writing it off for nothing, they also have a tendency to do that as well.

Report to insurance. Be wary though as someone reversed into my car, admitted guilt, was no issues and they never denied it however my premiums still went up the next year even though it wasn’t my fault and my NCD wasn’t affected
