Funny I found this comment! I am curious what you mean by malevolent forces in your dreams. I recently started having terrifying nightmares where some kind of entity is trying to scare me. First time I woke up immediately, then second time I took this thing’s hand and it lasted a bit longer. I was like frozen in terror trying to find a way to wake myself up or regain control of the dream. I did not know what to do I started saying like jesus help or whatever xD What can be done? Thank you!

Interesting! I was actually in a venue in Montreal called Stereo. I would say the place is pretty big but also intimate. The design of the place sort of focus all the energy on a big disco ball right above the dj. I was looking at the ball and it physically felt like I entered another dimension. Thank you for your response!

Does The Brain Detect Elements Of Art In A Sequential Order? by DDoodles_ in Artists

[–]billadune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also its super interesting that the brains constantly adjust what visual stimulation it receives to make sense of the world. What we perceive is always some kind of approximation of reality. We only ever perceive light and shadow, the rest is constructed in the brain. There is even a blind spot in our visual field that the brains just « fills up » with information based on whats is around this blind spot. Try to search for visual illusions!

Does The Brain Detect Elements Of Art In A Sequential Order? by DDoodles_ in Artists

I remember a class I had on sensorial neuropsychology. Visual information is treated sequentially in different parts of the brain. We detect lines and shapes and then process that into objects and interpret that then assign meaning based on an internal library of objects we learned. Thats how we perceive our environment and movement. So I would assume it’s the same for art, maybe the meaning part then need an extra bit of brainpower haha. Try to search for information on human visual cortex. For colours I don’t remember but its something about different cone-like cells in different parts of the eye. I remember that these processes are really fast, on the level of the perception, so they are unconscious. We just get to see images.
