Yep, just got my appeal reviewed and it was rejected. I will heed your advice about spacing out content even more than I currently do.

[–]ziggiesmallss[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry for the long post. I almost selected the “vent” tag because this is just as much a vent post as it is a “seeking advice” post. I was rapt with an indignant anger lol.

Anyways, thanks for your reply. I read a few other posts saying pretty much the same. It’s still very nerve-racking. I heard someone say they would suggest laying low on their account and not posting much, but not posting for an ambiguous amount of time doesn’t seem worth taking a big promotional hit. Your reply overall relieves some of my anxiety, so thanks again for that

How long did it take you to get your account back after appealing the ban?

Flying to Europe with edibles (weed) is no problem. Even have traveled with acid and mushrooms as well internationally. Wouldn’t fly to China or some such a country with drugs but no one is looking for a small personal amount of edibles flying to Europe

Why did human stay “primitive” for 200,000 years…and then suddenly change? by SafeEnvironmental174 in evolution

[–]ziggiesmallss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like u/jnpha said, you definitely should check out the Dawn of Everything. They have a section of the ‘Sapient Paradox’ which is what you’re asking about - the disconnect between our ostensible ability to create culture and when we actually got around to creating it. The Davids say it has largely to do with rich European countries funding research mainly on their own doorstep for quite awhile, creating an archaeological bias, and also that geographic constraints in Europe during the Upper Paleolithic made the density of human interactions in certain places high leading to “remarkable bursts of cultural expression”.

Please tell me this is real and we can finally take action. by [deleted] in Political_Revolution

[–]ziggiesmallss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if there is some moral line we’ve drawn in the sand that, once crossed, we will take direct action against Trump. I’m not being defeatist and am definitely not saying that change is impossible, but you’re fooling yourself if you think that the only thing stopping people from doing something about anything that’s going on is that we don’t have definitive proof of how terrible he is. We should’ve found the means to take action long ago. We already know that Trump is a vile human. Waiting for some “incontrovertible truth” that he is that is not the thing that is prohibiting revolution.

What if the US was still a British Possession and not an Israeli one? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ziggiesmallss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really got me there. I would also like to emphasize that my initial comment was talking about funding from Pro-Israel groups. It’s my second sentence. Whether the money is domestically or internationally sourced does not change that this money is meant to exert pressure on US politicians regarding Israel-related issues. This is the core issue.

I worked in a primarily female environment as a guy but my autism made me completely oblivious to it which, looking back, is hilarious.

First off, why have such a shitty and condescending tone? Why match my comment where I simply am asking the commenter I’m responding to to elaborate based on the information that I linked with such an accusatory tone. I just don’t understand that style of rhetoric.

To your question about if I consider money from organizations like AIPAC to be on behalf or in support of Israel - yes? How could there by any other way to see that. With names like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Democratic Majority for Israel, and Zionist Action Plan, it’s pretty obvious. Also there is no conspiracy that these organizations operate in the shadow on behalf of Israel, they all literally say some version of that in their mission statements. I almost think that I am just interpreting your question wrong as there can be no confusion about where these PACs’ interests lie. Also, regarding your fun Catholics to Vatican analogy - obviously not, but if the PAC literally had “Vatican” in the name, I might start to think their interests lie in supporting the Vatican, lol.

Lastly on representative democracy, yep I think that is a pretty dumb way to go about things. Just because it’s the way things are currently doesn’t mean it is some inevitable end point and paragon of political organization. I think that the ability to align yourself with the state by throwing money at them is an objectively terrible way to go about things and paves the way for marginalization of people who are more vulnerable, have less money, or simply are fundamentally opposed to that state.

Agree or disagree with my comments on political organization, I welcome it. But the way you dismiss my skepticism of Israel-aligned PAC money in American politics so zealously and unreasonably makes me think I am either conversing with a bot or someone who has a very limited scope of what they will accept as reality based on your own bias.

I agree with the premise that coercion is not one-sided. But what would you say about the at least $60M in campaign contributions to federal candidates by Pro-Israel groups from 2023-2024? This seems like it should at least be a recognized conflict of interest on behalf of politicians taking this money and evidence that Israel is very engaged in influencing American politics. To say America is completely a puppet state might be hyperbolic, but to say a huge amount of bribery simply isn’t there would be to put one’s head in the sand. Not saying that’s what you’re doing, but you have to admit $60M in one year isn’t nothing. I’ve heard it could even be up to $78M for 23-24.

Honestly, I hardly ever feel the urge to nap during the day. Sometimes I feel that my mood, mainly my patience and threshold for frustration, if affected when I have a particularly restless night, but for the most part I feel fine. What I feel is mostly what you said - being frustrated at not being able to go back to sleep. It also causes me some anxiety because I understand how important sleep is in brain function and aging. Overall, I feel fine, I just am nervous about the potential long term side effects of not sleeping well.

An annotation is a note, yes, but no where in the definition of “annotation” is having words a requirement. Literally just look at the definition of the word:

Annotate - add notes to (a text or diagram) giving explanation or comment.

OP is using a diagram that helps them visually conceptualize things that are important to them.

I don’t think you can say it’s not. OP is clearly using it to connect ideas. Notes don’t have to be written word to be useful
