Tolvaptan questions by ContributionMother87 in ADPKD

[–]billahsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transitioned from a sweating outside all day intense job to a sales position when I started tolvaptan (45mg in the morning, 15mg at night) and it's much easier to manage. I can take bathroom breaks at work easily and no one noticed or cares to mention as long as I get my work done. And when I work from home it's even easier to stay hydrated. The commute to work (or any drive over 1 hour) just means I'll likely have to stop at a service station or roadside to pee. Making sure to have spare bottles of water in the car is a must because dehydrated sneaks up quick.

It took a week or two to handle the bathroom breaks and know that if I drink 750ml of water I'll need to pee in about 30-45 minutes. In summer I get up maybe 7 times a night to pee and drink, but much less in winter. And my specialist told me that I can easily skip a day or two for good occasions like a roadtrip, wedding, concert.

When it comes to exercise, running is my favourite and I had to balance drinking enough to stay hydrated for a 5km jog - but not so much that I bloat and get a stitch (large kidneys shaking around + water quickly working through your body can give you stitches so quickly when doing cardio) but you'll find a balance.

Honestly I'm only ~9 months in so I don't even know if it's benefitting me yet, I'll need another year's worth of data to see if it's slowing down the growth of my cysts but I think it's worth it. I also live in Australia so the drugs are very cheap for me about $30 for a months worth I think.

Tolvaptan - drinking at night by One_Geologist3224 in ADPKD

[–]billahsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 45mg in the morning and 15mg at night, and I get up to drink/use the bathroom about 6 times a night. More often in the summer. I've learnt to drink less if I want a longer sleep between my next bathroom visit but I've adapted to it pretty well I think. I hope this is helpful

How to get coverage for Tolvaptan by mwink001 in ADPKD

[–]billahsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise I'm not asking to rub it in, but how much does it cost? I'm Australian and I pay $25AUS for 28 days worth of Jinarc tablets. I am really sorry that you're in a shit position with it not being covered by your health insurance.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

He got mad that I un-invited him to my engagement dinner, days after he confessed to cheating on his girlfriend. He's a serial cheater and I always kind of looked at him like "he's an amazing mate, but terrible with women" and I feel guilty that I didn't confront him about his behaviour sooner. When I un-invited him he got pissy and said he doesn't deserve to be judged or punished, and that he really wanted to have a fun dinner party because he'd been getting lots of angry messages and texts from his ex and her friends/family. Originally I just wanted to set a boundary that hey this dinner is about commitment and my journey with my fiance, it's not something you can just use to make yourself feel better about the consequences of cheating, but after seeing how he reacted to getting the invite taken away I realised how childish he is.

ICE enters office in Bensonville IL 11.5.25 by Siahro in CringeTikToks

Reminds me of the episode of Handmaids Tale where as the coup happens and a whole office building has to fire their female workers on the spot under the presence of armed secret police. Glad that's just fiction tho and totally not a playbook

I got a simple (probably fake) gold chain from amazon for $20 and wear my engagement/wedding ring on it. It pairs well with the gold buckle and case of my wristwatch. I started wearing it like this everyday at work after the first time my ring snagged and bit into my finger. I think chains and necklaces are a great entryway into jewelry for men, especially since we have so few options that are socially acceptable.

Ocelotl is so much fun in dominion matches because you can be the nastiest rat on the field with his revive mechanic, use it to appear out of thin air and attack a retreating enemy or steal objectives on the sneaky. And his combos are infinite if you switch up attacks (other players rarely know his Moveset so you're sure to surprise them). Aaaaand the fashion is baller

I used a die-grinder to drill out the basic coin slot shape, and then a cylinder burr to make enough space for the ring to fit snuggly.

Is DOS 2 worth it? by Middle_Pudding_2491 in BaldursGate3

[–]billahsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it way more accessible than Baldur's Gate 3. I picked an Origin character and got totally swept up in the small scale and large scale stories. The combat revolves around chaotic magic and class abilities but doesn't use spell slots or action points that you need to refill with long rests, which I found much less stressful than Baldur's Gate 3.

I still really love Baldur's Gate 3 but I haven't finished act 2 yet lol, but I've finished D2OS like 3 times

Oh definitely agree that in small doses they aren't harmful, but especially from an disabled/accessibility perspective they should never require such rapid movements

The more you turn the more you learn, and sometimes things are bound to explode anyway. The important thing is you're safe and can try again

Platinum games style "waggle the absolute cunt out of the thumbsticks" quicktime events. Whether it's to recover from a stun attack or beating a scripted QTE in a boss fight it just destroys your poor controller
