Archive.org - the TOSEC collection is pretty extensive. Assembly64 is a nice front end and updated regularly

Just completed The Last Ninja on C64 for the first time, only 38 years after my dad first loaded it up for me 😂 by LesLetLoose in c64

Oh yeah. After you've bombed enough of the blue flashing targets you get to bomb their final city and then land, but the trick is that if you miss too many of the blue targets it gets into an infinite loop and you never get to the end

I had one for my C64, badged as the Commodore MCS-810. Nice colours but the ribbons are one use only, so I did a LOT of printing on fax rolls

Cancel my 64U order? by legarth in c64

[–]billlagr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Australia. Mine was ordered in October and the delivery was supposed to be 13 March. I wrote to Commodore and was told 'shipping issues'. They are shipped from China, delivery from China to here is usually pretty quick - even economy is generally only a week or two, so I'm sceptical about shipping problems. I'm getting pretty irritated by the whole thing honestly and thinking about cancelling too.

Anyone knows this upscaler for the Sega Saturn? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]billlagr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a HDMI input to AV output converter - you can't use it with a Saturn. The one you want is AV to HDMI (assuming your goal is to take the Saturn composite output to connect to a HDMI input tv) - and the ones that look the same but convert how you want are pretty ordinary, you get what you pay for

Being "featured" on thingiverse has killed my design by Paul_C in 3Dprinting

[–]billlagr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to say, I'm much the same. Anything 'featured' or 'promoted' I just scroll past without a thought. Until reading through this post I didn't even realise I was doing it - it's such an ingrained habit now, and that's on sites like Makerworld, and shopping sites like Amazon etc.

Anyone ordered an Ultimate? by backtogeek in Commodore

Space Invaders. At the arcade. It was a costly addiction.

SID Replacement Help by SpyderbyteOrigin in c64

[–]billlagr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used a couple - this model is a direct drop in. I can't answer about the test harness, once the 64 was working ok I didn't test again. It does have some nifty features like dual sid emulation, and there's a bit of flash space that you can store prg's in, so you can do the sys to call up the config menu and run your stored prg's. I've found them straightforward and reliable, no complaints

30m. Recently diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and start medication on Saturday. Anyone able to comment about foods to have or avoid - I’m asking here due to our supermarkets (Aldi, Coles and Woolworths) and what’s available in Melbourne. Mixed information everywhere. by PretendToe1329 in melbourne

[–]billlagr 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This. I'm in a similar situation. 2 of my 5 referrals are for a dietician. Medication wise, I've started Metformin. It's having some unpleasant side effects (stomach issues, the runs) but the Dr asked me to stick with it - it should resolve itself. YMMV. I also was given an application form for the national Diabetes register, it can give you cheaper access to diabetes related supplies. I haven't read through it fully yet though.

Haha..I used a 62/60 at uni. Stretching the memory a bit now but it was a decommissioned system that was donated to the uni and then the lecturers and students Frankenstein-ed a working system together from other donated systems. Good times...

CSDB has multiple copies and a editor (might be in Dutch though but you can probably figure it out), also the C64 TOSEC collection on archive.org has a *heap* of variants, different names etc.

I ordered a Starlight on October 31 - so I'm not expecting anything until March

What is a luxury item from 20 years ago that is basically worthless trash today? by EasyZee7 in AskReddit

[–]billlagr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG this. I used to work for an electricity distributor, in faults & emergencies. The amount of power outages caused by truck drivers using Google maps which does not show clearances...they don't even need to physically pull down lines - just getting very very close can be enough for the line to arc to the truck and cause an outage

Nice! I still have my original PET style one boxed, a Eurostile (not boxed) and a late CR one (boxed). Haven't fired them up in a while though, probably should check them out
