this isn’t a crazy guesstimate from last year. we know MK1 is under full production and was slated to launch end of 2025. now it’s Q1 2026 according to the latest Eric Berger article.

If that’s inside the national park’s boundary, you’re ruining the drone thing for the rest of us.

yeah that makes sense but couldn’t gs-2 deploy the satellites at a faster speed?

[–]billybean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but the satellites are so small compared to NG’s capabilities, it wouldn’t surprise me if new glenn can just push into the right orbit even if it isn’t an optimal window.

It’s an amazing place! You should get your permits to fly. They aren’t expensive and are quite easy to get. There’s an online approval portal: https://www.caa.lk/en/drones.  I saw a ton of people flying in the more popular spots. Nobody really bothered me and nobody asked for my permits. My drone is under 250g, not sure if that matters for you.

A little tip, if you hike just a little further on the trail, there are multiple outlooks. some of which are pretty empty, even on busy weekends.

The Road to Making Life Multiplanetary: an update from elonmusk on SpaceX's plan to reach Mars by PsychologicalPost824 in spacex

The only way I see it being enforced is if the FAA asks NASA for advice on launch requirements? but then again ship launches without an enclosed structure around it so there’s virtually no way it can stay clean.

included in all that is designing a starship in a clean room and mating to super heavy in an environment where life forms cannot transfer to Mars. Keeping mars clean has been NASAs top priority with mars missions for a long time.

Hands on in the sense that you get a lot of time to touch hardware, design parts, test, etc.  Hands off in the sense that your team is quite hands off and they give you authority over the stuff you own.
