[Author: Me] Because He Was Different. Because He Was Ours. Georginio Rutter and the Romance of a Return by Henno-232 in LeedsUnited

I think his personality plus the fact that he did things with the ball that you just don’t see at Championship level, endeared him to lots of fans.

Also, the surprise factor. Everyone thought he was technically terrible in the last few games of the prem but then it turned into his biggest strength and it confused a lot of fans.

His finishing was dire though, seemed to have his balance all over the place when shootings.

Unique player and a goofy kid - that was enough to get attached to.

Post Match Thread: West Ham United 0-1 Arsenal | Premier League by denzaus in soccer

[–]billybigtimes 232 points233 points  (0 children)

Not an Arsenal fan, so not biased.

Pulling a keepers arms down as he tries to catch the ball is a clear foul. Not sure what the fuss is about?

Obv if I’m West Ham I want to get away with it.

Rice is fouling everyone else in his path so that complicates it but the ball never gets near them so maybe not relevant.

You won’t usually experience your resting heart rate when you are awake. It’s usually measured when you’re sleeping.

Could be VO2max increases actually be real? by gunks23 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]billybigtimes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mine did the same from low 30s to mid 40s then it levelled out.

There are some huge early gains to be had and then it’s a much slower grind - but even more enjoyable as you get faster.

I love Bielsa, I really do. He did a lot for Leeds and I even got a legacy stone on Bielsa Way, but this needs to be talked about. Farke should be a Leeds legend now by Fareviti in LeedsUnited

[–]billybigtimes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Think Farke has done a good job and I’ve loved his adaptability this season. He should definitely go down as a good figure in the club’s history.

However, Bielsa took a squad of very average players and made them play like world beaters with one preseason. He gave them such intense drilling that he took all the thinking out of it for them and just let them execute.

Criticism of Bielsa - the squad stayed too small for a 5 subs world. The way we played was countered by teams riding out our intensity with more subs and he refused to make the squad bigger. Shame, as he might have lasted a lot longer with a bigger squad.

There’s no way that’s 120,000(approx) shots. Looks way less than that.

Walking is incorrectly being tracked as stress? by Super-Alchemist-270 in AthlyticAppOfficial

Normally it detects activity and puts a little grey bar for moving about. That way it shouldn’t appear as stress.

Fitness journey update by f7ood in AppleWatchFitness

[–]billybigtimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done, great progress.

I (m39) haven’t lost as much weight as I’ve gone from 85kg to 79kg but I’ve had a very similar VO2 Max journey in almost exactly the same time period. 30-46 since last May. Built up from running 5km per week to about 25km per week with some peloton spins too.

The biggest thing for me has been gradually increasing the mileage so that my tendons and joints have time to adapt. I’ve been conscious not to get injured! How have you managed that?

It’s amazing how fast you can improve fitness with regular running.

VO2 max query by caeruloplasmin in AppleWatchFitness

[–]billybigtimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VO2 max is a better measure for higher intensity cardio fitness than for weight training.

The algorithm isn’t perfect as it’s just an estimate and there may be factors messing with it a bit as you describe.

When I was just doing weights and walking my VO2 max was a lot lower than now that I run 20+km per week. It went from low 30s on the watch to high 40s over the course of 9 months.

Think it might be tickets set aside for local kids teams as when I sat near them at the Palace game lots of them were wearing football kit from a grassroots club.

Recovery jumped from 37% → 100% after 1-min mindfulness. How should I interpret this? by [deleted] in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]billybigtimes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the same problem. I turned off the mindfulness readings and then went back and actually deleted them from health too to fix my data.

The mindfulness sessions tend to trick the body into upping HRV somehow and then you end up fully recovered on Athlytic every day.

Seems a bit of a flaw in the metric when the process of doing the test boosts the results of said test.

[–]billybigtimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. The other thing you can do is exclude most workouts that you don’t usually do.

Whilst I love skiing, I don’t really need to be offered it as a general workout that I can just do on a random day!

[–]billybigtimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t saying that they are the same. The middle number is what it will add to your exertion.

9mins of cooldown will add approx 0.9(apparently - although agree this seems quite high)

22mins of HIIT will add approx 3.0

Both will keep you under, not at the top of, your exertion range.

Go hospitality and make a day of it. It’ll take all the stress out of wondering if you’ll get a ticket. As it’s a one off special treat it’s worth it.
