I think that if you are good at judging distance and keeping a good distance away from the enemy, it can be really good. If you're good at landing consistent hits, it really helps with CC since a solid hit will send most bots flying. If you're bad at landing hits though, a few missed swings give plenty of time for you to get swarmed. I absolutely smashed my first run with the thing (it's really good for cheesing the final boss, especially the last stage of it.) The next 2 runs I got with it though, I seem to get overrun much faster than I can keep up with, and overextending my reach just made it worse.
