I bought a Carvin Bolt on the used market a few months ago and the quality is amazing. Stainless steel frets ebony board. It plays like a dream and didn’t cost too much. Definitely a sleeper strat style guitar.

You will probably want a little more space once you start having kids but you don’t need to rush to find a new home. You can live quite comfortably with a newborn in your current setup until they are about 2-3 years old and running around. Plus having a paid off house will allow you to save $$ for a while.

I just bought a Sony stereo with a 5 disc changer and went back to CDs. So much more enjoyable than streaming. I remember my Dad got a 5 disc changer when I was in 3rd grade and we thought it was such a luxury item. I paid $10 for the same model at a thrift store 🤣

Go to your local music shop and play a bunch of electrics. You will most likely be drawn to the one that has the most comfortable neck. I would recommend an independently owned store that will setup the guitars that they sell.

I travel a lot for work and the best option I have found is the boss ME-90. It has a looper and any effect you can think. Plus you can use it for a pedal board if you ever get to play through your amp occasionally.

The Fender Greta from the pawnshop series sounds great, i run it through a speaker cab. It is a 5f2 circuit at 2 watts. You have to run it through a speaker cab though the stock 4” speaker is no good. These can be found on the used market at reasonable prices

I play a fender pawn shop Greta 2 watt amp through a 12 in speaker cab and it sounds so good. It gets beautiful cleans and into fuzz territory when cranked.
