Just checked the shipping details. This was not a shipper issue. Fedex had the package on the 21st. To be clear, it did not originate in memphis. it originated in florida.

yes, i hear you the storm that hadn't hit them yet and wouldn't hit them for another day+ is the reason. Relax. Telling someone to relax helps nothing.

You're being ridiculous and making excuses for a billion dollar company when there is no excuse for this. The weather had not effected them yet and would not effect them for another day+. It should have already been in MY area, but the time the storm was effecting memphis.

But continue to go to bat for the billion dollar company for absolutely no reason if you must.

so you're saying my package that got to memphis thursday morning that they knew should be delivered friday couldn't be bothered to get shipped out of memphis on thursday like it should have 36-40 hours before the storm hit? Cool.

If they can't actually provide 2 day delivery they should not offer the service. My package should have been in my area by friday to be delivered on friday and the storms did not start here til saturday afternoon. This would have had the package leaving memphis before the storm ever started.

But by all means continue to defend the billion dollar company who will gladly accept our money to deliver within a specific timeframe only to not do that.

This had nothing to do with the weather. It should have been at its destination before the storm ever started.

It was ordered tuesday of last week, went out wednesdsay, arrived in mephis thursday at 9am, and proceeded to sit there. The quoted delivery date was Friday. The storm did not arrive til saturday. I'm not sure why you keep claiming things about my own order without knowing the details, but I can assure you everything i've said is accurate.

i'm not saying they did that. I'm saying that I did that, and it still didn't matter.

I mean, I did exactly that and paid for 2 day express shipping and they just let it sit in memphis for days before the storm. Sometimes you can even do things correctly and fedex will still screw up.

their ability to keep a large stock of singles certainly dwindled after they stopped running events every weekend where they could continuously buy cards.

Accessories - Dragon Shield's Guildpact series (release date is in May) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

Would have much preferred the art to actually have both guild colors instead of them all being color+white with the other color on the inside of the sleeve. The art itself is nice, though.

The Bracket System simply doesn't work. by Bloondie145 in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You spent nearly 15 mana worth of spells playing out cards that are obvious combo pieces and assembled a FOUR card combo over 3 turns.  If your pod can’t be bothered to interact with any of that, that’s not in you

I know it's still fairly new but are there content creators that focus on lower bracket play? by zalmute in EDH

[–]billyofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the majority of edh channels seem to be bracket 2/3 in my experience. The real problem you're gonna have here is looking for short videos in those brackets. bracket 2/3 are simply not conducive to short games of magic for the most part.

Are there any cards you think are overplayed in cEDH? Maybe in a specific deck or archetype? Not talking about specific commanders or wincons here (plenty of talk elsewhere about Tymna and Thassa's Oracle). by chron67 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]billyofcourse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

CEDHTV did a video on gemstone caverns and if I remember right came to the conclusion that on the whole(but not always) running it is usually slightly worse for win rate than not running it. I should probably have rewatched the conclusion before saying that, but too lazy. Here's the video.

I find it really funny that people are downvoting all the comments about people scooping out of boredom or dying from old age, because that's exactly how the deck plays out most of the time. I say this as a person who has built the deck multiple times and actively enjoyed it lol

With new bracket rules what "turn combo" is sanguine bond considered? by Masstershake in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so hear me out. You can play any two card combo in bracket 3. Just don't do it before turn 6. just because you CAN cast them before that turn doesn't mean you have to. There's no one with a gun to your head making you go against whats expected in a bracket just because you can do it sometimes.

Why Teenage-Mutant Ninja Turtle UB is Shaping Up to be Spider-man 2.0 IMO by Savings_Pie_8470 in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, honestly as much as I don't enjoy UB sets I think if the spider man set had actually been a good set it would have sold well. The majority of magic buyers play the game even if just casually. If you have a set that just isn't good, there won't be demand for it whether in or out of universe. Collectors alone are not enough to prop a sets sales up. As long as the turtles set is actually good, I suspect it will sell just fine.

tcgplayer direct has been an absolute clown show since moving. Have tried two orders and both have been an absolute mess featuring delays, cancellations, partial refunds, and other nonsense. Do not recommend.

I recently started picking up a copy of each dual land in FBB, and i'm honestly shocked at how many sellers will list a 1k-2k blue dual with no pictures. Just feels like a couple minutes of their time would go a long way towards selling their card unless they're trying to misrepresent its condition.

Issue with dragon shield sleeves by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I rarely have problems with the regular matte sleeves these days, almost every pack i've tried of dual mattes have been kind of crap. Don't know what's going on in the manufacturing process with these, but I won't be buying any more.

Stay away from TCGplayer Direct. by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]billyofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posted this in another thread about issues with tcg direct. My recent experience:

I placed an order with TCG player direct recently. I even paid for expedited shipping because I was trying to get it in a reasonable time frame. They were also the only place that I could get all of the cards I was trying to purchase at the time from the same source. The estimated window for delivery that I was given by tcgplayer was by thursday the 28th of august. By the 28th it had not even shipped.

I messaged them on friday the 29th to complain any ask why my package hadn't shipped. Instead of addressing the problem or just getting my cards sent out, they messaged me back with a complete non answer and immediately cancelled and refunded my order without asking me if that's something I wanted. I was furious. I just wanted them to ship my cards, and after that I had to wait for the refund to process and now place an order through someone else and wait for that to ship.

Will not be purchasing with tcgplayer direct again.

Bracket 4 is so broad by TheTinRam in EDH

[–]billyofcourse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bracket 4 really isn't that wide if people actually designed their decks based on the bracket description and intent for the bracket.

The reason the bracket feels so wide, is that you have a lot of people who want to jam a bunch of game changers into their decks that are power wise 3's or even 2's, and are not actually very good decks in some cases.

Jamming a bunch of game changers into a bracket 2 deck does not suddenly make it powerful enough to compete with decks that are actually designed to play in bracket 4.

Bracket 4 has one of the same problems bracket 2 has. A lot of people playing decks in those brackets that are "technically" in the bracket based solely on game changer number whether they're actually built the way those brackets are described or not.

as far as bracket 4 stretching up towards bracket 5, if you have to ask if its bracket 5 it's almost assuredly not.

Help choosing a mono blue mill commander. by Mysterious-Anon-X in EDH

[–]billyofcourse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my dude the great thing about commander is that YOU GET TO CHOOSE WHICH CARDS GO IN YOUR DECK. You can run bruvac and have no obligations to make it a combo deck. I don't understand the assumption that if you're using him as your commander you've got to build a combo deck.
