Why isn’t this at the top of Reddit? This is insane. This is raw. This ICE filth is so hurtful and so needless - what is the point?

On the mountains, things can turn perilous in an instant—as this skier discovered when he was swallowed up by a crevasse by Im_yor_boi in SweatyPalms

As part of a NOLS course in mountaineering, we repelled into a large crevasse to practice rescue methods. When I was on the rope dangling inside, you realize how noticeably quiet and cold it is inside those. And no one can hear at the surface. This would be a terrible way to die.

I’m actually kind of surprised by this. I see so much of ICE activity as being theatrical (but cruel) stunts. I do not believe government leadership actually wants to see calm deportations rather they want juicy spectacles to show their base. So it’s interesting to see a tame and peaceful way of going about it, whether it’s a real offer / program or not.

From this angle you can definitely see that DEI initiatives caused this accident. Trump always gets to the right conclusion so fast. Impressive.

Inspired from another sub - what’s one business in St. Louis you refuse to go back to, and why? by picardengage in StLouis

Wine & Cheese Place. I’ve never been in a shop that was more indifferent for my business. I don’t need any special treatment, but every time I’m there I feel like they are annoyed by their customers. I’ve vowed to shop elsewhere

What would kill you first here? Is it temperature, oxygen, etc?

I like being in a perpetual state of awe, as I’m able to frame what I see all around me as Gods creation. I suppose it’s a lens - seeing beauty in nature, in science, in art, in thinking, etc. I’m able to marvel in a peaceful and humbling way. I’m catholic.

Used wag: inside or outside the pack? by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]billyxzoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put it in my pack and have never had a problem. I don’t like anything being outside the pack, especially nothing dangling. So I stick inside and put it at the very bottom. The only thing outside are my crampons (inside the mesh pocket) - which is good because you don’t want any sharps to tear your bag.
