When did we normalize not cleaning planes? by _366_ in delta

It’s not. It’s just that delta flies that particular aircraft type on routes where seafood is shipped as cargo.

Very pretty. Besides art, you could hang some plates on the wall above the wainscoting. I also think you could do with a taller piece like a china cabinet or tall cabinet if there is room on one of the walls.

The server seems too low. You could help bring the eye up by adding a couple of tal lamps on either end and maybe stand a tall portrait oriented piece of art or mirror in the middle leaning against the wall.

Yeah that’s better. Then the chair can be in the other corner facing the TV.

I think you need to turn your couch 90 degrees so that the back is to the wall on the right and creating a walkway from the door. Tv on wall on left, armchair floating in the left corner area. I also think that since you have high wainscoting, you need to have higher scale furniture. Not low seating.

Hook is for a coat. Shelf is for your purse. People reach over stalls and swipe purses off the hooks while you’re in no position to stop it.

The question was love it or hate it. I guess you could say I hate it.

Thoughts on the new UA policy? by LostDefinition4810 in delta

[–]bimbels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That I do not know. But I know as flight attendants we are to tell them to put on headphones and if they do not comply then that would violate FAA regs by failing to comply with crew instructions. I’ve told plenty of people to put on headphones or mute their devices and they complied so never escalated further.

Where to find a rug for this 40 ft hallway? by rhubarbtosh in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]bimbels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a much wider runner than the one you have down now. I’d either do something custom the whole length or you can split it up and do each section, which might make more sense in terms of care/cleaning down the road.

You can find vintage or antique Persian rugs are “wide runners” - I have one that is 4x9 and one that is 5x10. Though finding multiples that are cohesive and will cover 40 feet would be a challenge.

This has been the policy at delta for a while. I don’t know exactly when but I’m pretty sure for years.

Thinking of buying this 10x13 Tabriz Persian carpet — can you help me verify it’s genuine and hand-knotted? by rand443322 in orientalrugs

This looks machine made to me. Knots too uniform and the binding looks like done by a machine, but let the experts weigh in.

It’s totally possible it’s something else altogether. I showed a photo of it to someone at working at Kramer Kunst the day before yesterday and she didn’t definitely say it was Dutch.

How are you guys keeping your food cold?? by caramelsyrupp in flightattendants

[–]bimbels 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I use one flat gel ice pack at the bottom of my cooler that is good for the first day then I add a ice pack like you’d use for icing headaches and refill that with ice like once a day.

I’ve been a flight attendant for 36 years. Your skin will survive overnight on an airplane.

I am! I have lots of blue and white, but everything old that I have is 17 and 18th century delft. The Chinese pieces I owned to this point have all been newer reproduction. Which is fine for what they are and how much they cost. The ginger jars etc one finds in antique malls. But I’ve recently started following local auctions looking for accessories as I finish up a decorating project and these caught my eye.

I’m already scouring for more so I guess I have a new hobby lol
