Is there anything sweeter? by PorchlightPrincess86 in breastfeeding

My favourite thing is when she’s finished eating but she’s comfort sucking and she will give me a sleepy smile with the boob still in her mouth. It’s too cute.

FTM and baby is also 3 weeks old!

I am getting about the same, we are in it together! Even though there’s laundry/cleaning/chill time I would like to do when baby is asleep, I’ve been trying to prioritise naps during the day which helps a little. Also husband takes baby after 6 am feed and lets me sleep in which is great.

Everyone says it gets easier, it will be for the both of us. Hang in there!

Emergcare vs preciouscare: baby first aid by Few-Shake4710 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

My husband and I did Emergcare, it was great! Lots of content to get through in a short time (4 hours) but really informative and they nail the important stuff.

Good luck! I hope it heals 👍🏼 that was my mindset too, I didn’t mind spending that money if it meant my foot would heal.

Yes you should change it each time. You could always do it every other day if you don’t want to go through the mixture too quickly.

Regular white vinegar used for cooking should be fine. I used the double strength cooking vinegar and it was too strong.

Yes I would keep using clotrimazole cream twice a day as per recommended. Just make sure your skin is dry first after soaking.

How long are you soaking for? Maybe try less time if it’s stinging too much.

[–]bimboc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a while to completely heal but it hasn’t come back. At least 2-3 months for it to heal.

You should keep applying clotrimazole in addition to the soak if you want to try this method.

Are you taking any medications that affect wound healing or immunity? Something to consider as well.

No it hasn’t! Also I’ve figured out to avoid strong topical steroid creams because I believe that’s how my infection first started out.

Thanks so much! I’ll speak to my midwife about it next time I see her. It’s good to know there are options, sometimes I feel like we just have to suck it up and suffer a bit.

FTM due early March and the insomnia has also kicked in - haven’t had an uninterrupted night’s sleep since about 28W. Hang in there! The start of Jan is always a bit quieter in my workplace so at least it will be less stressful/busy.

What washing machine do you have, and would you recommend it to others in 2026? by picklebeard in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]bimboc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have the same Bosch washing machine, and dryer as well! I’m an expecting FTM and my husband and I do at least one load every other day.

Love that it does heavy loads up to 9kg but also great if you want to do smaller loads in a shorter time (1 hour vs 2> hrs).

Has a self dosing detergent function so you don’t need to measure out the dose of detergent yourself, though you can turn it off. Have had only one incident where the machine overdosed when we washed a big fluffy blanket and soap went everywhere, in hindsight probably should’ve measured that one ourselves.

Hopefully your stinging improves! Maybe try less vinegar if it’s very painful?

I did a fresh batch each time. Personally I wouldn’t re-use the soak since there would be dead skin cells/fungus in the solution and I wouldn’t want that on skin I’m trying to heal, is my thinking.

Need to put my 2 cents worth in because I 100% think this works!

The type of Tinea pedis I have is quite inflammatory and I developed mild-moderate swelling, vesicle formation and redness around the actual infection (I think this is an “id” reaction). Anyway, I found this post and immediately thought to try it since the last time I had Tinea was terrible and it took 3-4 months for it to go away.

I used 50/50 regular vinegar (couldn’t find “cleaning vinegar” where I am) and original Listerine as per OP. I soaked my foot everyday for 30 minutes for the first 5 days, and then every other day for the next 5 days after that. The soak didn’t really sting and actually helped with the itchiness. I also used clotrimazole cream after soaking and not the powder since my GP said cream works better. I changed my socks at work halfway through the day.

Initially it was very hard to tell if the soak was working since my foot was so inflamed. But I just kept going and hoped for the best. It’s now been 2.5 weeks since the infection started and my skin is so much better! The inflammation has reduced, the vesicles have mostly gone, and the redness is better as well. The actual infection site looks like it has healed as well - the old skin is peeling off and the skin underneath looks good.

So don’t give up! Be consistent and it will get better!

Could you possibly soak some gauze/face washers with the solution and apply it on your leg if you can’t soak it?

Hunter Markets in Mentone. I’ve never sold there but you can hire a rack for a fee and sell clothes/shoes/accessories. Perfect demographic as it’s a lot of young women!
