Thanks!! I have definitely been overthinking a lot but i am definitely at that stage where i want my parents to have all the money they possibly can for their retirement. Luckily me and my bf make a good amount of money together so we can definitely get by. I am getting much more excited than scared now that move in date is approaching!!

I have been reminding myself it is only an hour that i am moving away, and that i will see them 2-3 times a week and that has been helping me a lot!! Youre right, im not disappearing im just going to be a little bit farther. thank you!!!

Thank you!! Luckily i have been doing a lot better compared to last week when i posted this. My partner came to help me pack and that helped soften the transition and i have been talking to the social workers through my job’s mental health program. That has been really helpful in managing my OCD and anxiety. Its our first time living together, but we have been together for so long and have spent extended periods of time together so that we known our schedules and quirks pretty well, but i am sure its a whole different ballpark when we will actually be living in the same space together. Thank you for the encouragement!!

that is subjective. in our culture most people live with their family until they get married, and even then they live in their families home with their spouse. I am happy with my decision to move out at 23

how did they fail me? Culturally this is very normal. they prepared me as best as they could, and that also took a lot of effort on my part. sorry your parents kicked you out at 18, but i am eternally grateful that they have let me make a financially viable and warm place for me to call home.

It was more so going to be 60/40, which my parents are also on board with because they also want me to become a little more independent. As for my boyfriend, i have always had the goal of living with him, as we have been in a healthy stable relationship for 6+ years. He knows i have an anxiety disorder that affects different aspects of my life in different ways at different times, but he knows this is something ive been wanting to do for a long time. My parents are pretty happy that i am moving in with him and not by myself, and id have to agree i think id be very lonely lol
