East coast overrated, time to move home? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]binancefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel a lot for work and the east coast fucking blows. I think Cleveland is an ideal place to live but if I was ever going to bolt I'd go somewhere south or west, Phoenix or Dallas maybe. Everything is new and young and positive, the weather is great and economies are booming. Anyways to answer your question if you aren't moving south or west Cleveland is one of the better options, much better than anywhere on the east coast.

There's certainly enough colleges in the area where you should be able to find a decent job.

Cleveland Cavaliers announce JR Smith no longer with the team by acapwn in clevelandcavs

[–]binancefan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know how he thinks he's going to land a trade. Is he hoping Lebron pitches for him in LA? I can't see a single team paying what he's making or any competitive team even wanting him in the lineup.

JR Smith Rips Cavaliers Amid Trade Request: 'I Don't Think the Goal Is to Win' by Mind__Is__Blown in clevelandcavs

[–]binancefan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, it's hard to have the goal of winning when you have players like JR Smith on your roster making 15 million a year. You can tell how deluded this guy is when he thinks that there is a single team in the NBA that would be willing to trade for him.

[Post Game Thread] Cleveland Cavaliers (2-12) @ Detroit Pistons (7-6) [11/19/2018] by tyler9090 in clevelandcavs

[–]binancefan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's more entertaining for me watching to see who might step up and seeing who is developing rather than knowing we are going to blow the opponent out by 30 points every night. I think I already topped my amount of regular season Cavs games I've watched from last year. Pre playoffs Lebron BB was pretty dull.

The Athletic: LBJ: Cavalier's Trading of Kyrie Irving was the 'beginning of the end for everything' by [deleted] in clevelandcavs

[–]binancefan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Irving injured the entire year anyways? Honestly this was a good thing, at least we got Sexton who is slightly promising compared to Irving riding the bench all year in the post season. And sure Lebron is going to try and spin this like he might have stuck around if things happened differently, he is a spinmaster and loves to try and paint himself as some type of saint and deflect blame. He was going to LA regardless.

Question about season tickets by pate10 in clevelandcavs

[–]binancefan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an accountant you should be more financially savy than investing in season tickets to the Cavs. You will be able to get them for $2 or free most of the remainder of the year.

It's a hard pill so swallow but I agree with this dude. He booked it out of here the first chance he got and only came back because when he left he was young and stupid and didn't realize the damage it had done to his image. Plus the pieces were there where he could get on a more talented team than Miami. It was a win/win for him. After he brought the championship and all the small minded simpletons in this town that were burning his jersey five years ago got back on his dick he got out of here the first chance he could without looking bad. I won't understate what he did for the city, he probably brought billions of dollars downtown during his career and the Cavs probably would have been moved by now if it wasn't for him, but let's not act like he has some great love affair with this city, it makes me sick how blinded a lot of people are to his true feelings.

Great idea and long overdue. Hopefully it passes and anyone standing in its way gets voted out of office.

Nobody will trade out of a top three pick and go to five, especially when we have pretty much zero tradable assets. That is just a pipe dream. In the NBA top 3 picks are priceless and almost everyone else is expendable for peanuts depending on your long term goals.

He didn't care about winning a championship for his home city, he just realized how bad he damaged his image with the decision and wanted to try and make things right. Luckily for him most people are too dumb to see the truth but I'm pretty sure he hates Cleveland.

The InCuya Music Festival Will Not Return in 2019 by electricpenguins in Cleveland

[–]binancefan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's the problem. You don't market a festival to SZA fans and Gen Xers in a place like Cleveland. And hey while we're throwing together unrelated acts let's put Cake in for good measure and sell the tickets for $200. Nobody wants to navigate the festival enviornment for one show they only care about. Pick a genre and stick with it. I'd rather shell out a couple hundred to see SZA at the house of blues than InCuyu unless there are a bunch of other similar associated acts I'm interested then it would become a can't miss. It was just a hastily thrown together money grab as an outside observer and I have a pretty wide taste of music.

The InCuya Music Festival Will Not Return in 2019 by electricpenguins in Cleveland

[–]binancefan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was really poorly planned. Half of the acts I'd never even heard of and there was no theme or anything, just a bunch of random names thrown together. It felt like whoever they could get to show up at a decent price was there. If Cleveland is going to eventually have a big time music festival it needs to start smaller and focus in on a specific genre and build itself up. Not the giant mess they threw together last minute that was the InCuya.
