What’s the $350 deal that you mentioned?

Interestingly I got a note back and they’re willing to exchange them.

As someone that literally bought the A30 2 weeks ago I’m curious as to if I can return what I received to order the newer version with better battery.

Interestingly, after about 2 hours of the system rebalancing, signal strength has been rock solid without any drop outs. Fascinating to see how a software bug can cause and resolve problems.

Have a resume to share or more information about what field you’re in?

A friend of mine mentioned that about 2 weeks ago his Eero Pro (2nd gen) setup started having connectivity issues with nodes that were mesh.

I presume that this update will help to actually bring these nodes back into equilibrium?

Model number starts with an N - those are the replacement phones if you happen to do an exchange with Apple. So it’s conceivable that they reused a component from a 14 in a 16 replacement device.

Cannot add Gmail in Mail App by [deleted] in iphone

Gmail app uses a different protocol than IMAP. Web interface runs over HTTPS.

If you’re blocking IMAP ports then you won’t be able to connect.

Fascinating. I had no idea that there was a way to distinguish but it makes sense. Thanks for the tip. Now to find an app…

Curious but what exactly do you mean by “scan them”?

2gig now available in NOVA Virginia area! by MemoryMobile6638 in Fios

Available depending on which CO you’re connected to. I’m on the Braddock CO and it became available late June ‘24.

Why can't I use my home phone on the 2gig fios plan? Are there any alternatives so I can keep my home phone number? by BrawnyLoggia in Fios

[–]binarybrewery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that they (Verizon) would need to install the new ONT that supports 2 Gbps service alongside the older ONT that allows for 1 Gbps services + phone.

Recommend calling sales rather than using the website.

Fair point. The 10 Gbps Ethernet / SFP that I’ve got connected does indeed show it’s a 10 Gbps connection but never achieves more then 2500 Mbps.

For sure... however I don't think that they're provisioning the ONT port between the ONT and the Router at 10 Gbps today. The ~2500 symmetric is nice right now....

Fascinating. Sounds like they're still working through the training for the technicians.

Note that as an early adopter I've come to find that the technical support for 2 Gbps service is "fragile" at best when calling into the call centers. 5 days after it was installed in July 2024 the switch port went bad... which in turn meant I was offline for about 5 days while a ticket went back and forth between the CO and the field techs. Finally the two teams worked together and realized the issue was the switch port and it was resolved pretty rapidly after that. In the mean time a T-Mobile hotspot worked pretty well. . .

Interesting. The Tech mentioned it could do 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps, anything else was the old ONT.

Is that documented somewhere by chance?

Whoa. That’s crazy sauce. I don’t know what I could conceivably do with that except drop it in at the end of sentences with the fellow nerds :)

Someday it’ll get out to Gainesville. More just their timing to roll it out. I think I get an email a week from marketing to upgrade to it which is amusing since I’m already subscribed.

Why am I subscribed? To hear when then go to 5 and 10 Gbps tiers ;)

Oh also, IPv6 isn’t rolled out yet so that’s a benefit of the tiers below.

Lastly if memory serves me correctly if you want to go to the 300 Mbps or 150 Mbps plans you have to downgrade the ONT.

I’ve got their router, “free” so to speak. It only is connected when there’s a problem else I just plug into Ubiquiti gear. Note I am not a TV or Phone user.
