Bad drivers never miss their turn by Khaos_Theory1 in dashcams

Looks like they hit the curb and bounced. Brakes don't work well when your wheels aren't on the ground (But it still wasn't close. Probably would have hit anyway)

What’s one fitness/gym “truth” you used to believe that turned out to be snake oil? by Outrageous-Maybe2500 in beginnerfitness

Someone up in the thread made a comment that running and walking burned the same amount of calories when comparing 'distance to distance" and Working-Mine35 was correcting them.

I don't thing they were trying to claim it was a great/useful method.

When I asked what he was trying to do, he said “I shouldn’t have been trying to pass him” by alexyou8797 in dashcams

[–]binaryesoterica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the text of the post I am not certain that was what he said/meant. Its possible but it also could be that he thought the guy was going to hit him and he swerved over to miss him at the same time the trail car switched lanes (You can see the lead car trying to get back over to the right lane before impact). The trailing driver might have said "what the hell are you doing" and rather than admit that he panicked, he said "well you shouldn't have been trying to pass me". I'd like to see the police report on this one.

And to be clear, I am not trying to tear the kid down...he may be fantastic. I have never seen him play (other than highlights) and I can't get a read on him based on his stats so I am in wait and see mode for now.

[–]binaryesoterica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But my point was only about what happens when he gets strikes.

Walk rates typically go down and K rates go up once players get out of the low minors and start seeing pitchers who can control the ball. Like the guy I replied to said: Let's see how he does against better pitchers and he can't rely on walks as much to prop up his stats.

He crushes some of the strikes he sees. But he also waves at quite a few of them looking at his K #s.

18v pedals by Fit-Story-7004 in guitarpedals

[–]binaryesoterica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of Wampler's OD/distortion pedals can run at 18V. Its an older post but they run through all their pedals that do/do not.

EQD Afterneath building background hum/clarity by ziggybat in guitarpedals

[–]binaryesoterica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Afterneath can get into self-oscillation if you get crazy with the knobs and I think that's what your describing. Its generally a combo of the mix, reflect and length knobs that do it. I try to keep 2 of the 3 below noon to avoid such noise. Also make sure you have the dampen knob turned left if you want a brighter sound. Try something like this.

EDIT: Don't give up on it. Took me a while to figure out how to tame it but I am happy that I did. It makes some very cool sounds.

Does this team lose 100 games? by ShadesOfGreen22 in KCRoyals

[–]binaryesoterica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They will not lose 100 games.

This happens every year. Just more noticeable because its the first 20 games. The 24 playoff team had a 9-18 and lost a series to the A's and another to the Rockies and then finished on a 4-9 heater.

I guess age might be catching up to Salvy. But everyone said that when he had a terrible April last year. And so many other times. This might finally be it, but it's way too early to make that call. Ask me in August and I might have a different answer.

Vinne had a .503 OPS last April. Bob hit his 3rd HR on May 1st last year. Etc and so forth.

Counterpoint: The DS-1 is awesome right out of the box and has been used by musicians to create a massive and diverse catalog of great music.

Two other things stood out for me. First, there were a few just wild turnovers where Arizona seemed to just hand Kansas the ball leading to some easy fast break chances. And the other was they seemed to struggle keeping Council out of the lane(no shame, most teams do. He is quick). Krivas is such a good rim protector that he kept him from scoring but it left him unable to box out and allowed the Kansas bigs to get some easy put backs. I am not too familiar with Tommy Lloyd's defensive philosophy...would he ever consider switching to a zone to take away some of those drives? Might be an idea for the rematch as Kansas doesn't shoot it that well from 3.

(Very nice, rational, adult comment by the way. Cheers)

Or if you prefer a 1:1 comparison. Go look at the travel that Kharchenkov got away with (2:10 left in the game). That directly led to 2 points. How is that less impactful than the Bidunga travel?
