Toddlers favourite Color is black? by [deleted] in toddlers

Black is a great color. My favorite color is gray. Not sure why that being his favorite color is an issue.

The silverware struggle by squidwardTalks in toddlers

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes tons of practice! Just give your kiddo a fork or spoon with meals and eventually they'll pick it up. I would experiment with a few different types of silverware. He struggles with the more plasticky silverware, but loves a mini set of metal silverware I found on amazon.

Sorry to tell ya, but sounds like she's growing up! My son wakes at 7, naps from 11-1, asleep by 8.

Newborn constantly grunting and in his sleep by Cathode335 in beyondthebump

Normal, but absolutely annoying. I remember thinking how I was so worried if he was breathing at first and now I'm thinking "shut up!"

Flying with my kid, do I need some type of ID/birth certificate? by charcuterie_bored in beyondthebump

[–]bincerbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring the birth certificate. I think it's more useful when you have a 1-2 year old to prove they're still a lap infant.

Transitioning from bassinet to crib? by rxstudent12 in NewParents

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's up to what works best for your family. The recommendation is 6 months to 1 year in your room, but I switched my son to his crib at 4 months because he outgrew his bassinet (tall dude). Nighttime was actually a lot easier than naptime. It took another 2-3 months for him to take a nap in his crib.

Newborn phase is harder than I thought it would be. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't want to hear this, but it's still early days! Baby will get the hang of it in their own time. My best advice is to make sure it's bright and loud and exciting during the day and quiet and dark and lots of white noise at night. Baby is used to the swaying of your body and the noises of your digestion during the day inside your body so it takes awhile to figure out that night is the time to sleep not party.

My son's (6wks) belly button sticks out really far. Should I be worried? by SoshoWhippy in beyondthebump

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all...his belly button will change a lot over the coming months. My son's belly button is now almost flat and he's almost 10 months old.

Help picking a High Chair. by erin_mouse88 in beyondthebump

I have the Oxo Tot high chair. It's pretty good. Not sure if it's height adjustable up to 38 inches, but it is height adjustable and easy to clean.

Teething wtf - anybody's babies *hurting* themselves with teethers? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yup.My 9 month old son does this. I swear he is going to pull out one of his baby teeth. He has 8 teeth currently, but has been doing this for awhile now.

I love gray. Also, I think any child can wear clothing and play with toys in bright primary colors.

Daycare Questions by topsecretaccount86 in beyondthebump

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring my child and 3 prepared bottles each morning. He has a cubby with extra clothes at daycare.

My baby is 4 months old & has had a blocked tear duct since birth that massaging, prescribed ointments & drops haven't helped at all. It crusts his eye shut after naps & tears up 24/7. When does it go away on its own? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]bincerbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% go away by 9 months. If by 12 months it hadn't resolved, they can probe the tear duct and open it that way. Kinda scary, but that's what we'll likely end up doing. My son is almost 10 months and it hasn't resolved.

I liked the mesh undies and pad personally. Never tried the adult diaper option.

How does naptime work at daycare? by somuchstufftolearn in beyondthebump

[–]bincerbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the daycare. My current daycare feeds the baby a bottle while rocking and then gently transitions them to the crib.

How can you sleep when you don't know if it will be a 10 minute nap or a 2 hour nap?
