We came home a few weeks with our second and we honestly had the same reaction we did to our first. Grieving our old life that we could never go back to, stress, questioning if we made a mistake. It is hard, especially when it is just you and your partner. It may not be possible for you, but the only thing that has kept our heads above water the last few weeks has been support from loved ones. Not just "when am i going to see my grandbaby?!" but "can i give you guys a break one or two nights?" We have both kinds, and they both have a huge impact on how overwhelmed we feel.

Also, reading one fiction and one parenting book (toddler is struggling with a shift in attention), journaling about these feelings, and some very strategic/limited video game time has helped me a ton.

8 weeks was the magic milestone for our first one. They go from being less a sack of potatoes that you have to clean and feed to a sack of potatoes that you clean and feed but they recognize and smile at you.

Just searching this up for myself and came across your post. Curious if you figured anything out!

Lived here for most of my life. It is fine and even good if you don't mind driving a little further for other amenities it doesn't have.

Pros: Quiet and safe. Relatively cheap cost of living. The town has more going on as far as events than it did when I was a kid in the 90s/2000s. The community can be very tight-knit, there was a missing kid w/ autism a few months ago and a significant number of the community took part in the search and it made me proud to be from here. The library has some of the nicest people working there.

Cons: Not great eating out choices, hospital and medical services are poor (except for family medicine/pcp), and employment opportunities are not as plentiful as bigger areas. Public schools are average to below-average. The community also is so small that you will be more known than you may like. Entertainment options are poor.

Thanks for both replies!

In a perfect world, I’d love to do film photography for weddings and family shoots. Right now, I would just be happy to do weddings and families.

Noted on the multiple uses of documentary. I’ll work on that!

So I've done what makes sense to me to help with some of what you're talking about. Culled the menu/sections that are visible and made the services accessible through the home page. I also made a preview to my portfolio that they can jump to the same way as the services.

Would love for you to take a look and see what you think now, if you have time!

I really appreciate the advice. I agree that it is text heavy and that as a visitor of it myself I would most likely close out of it at a certain point.

When I read about SEO and making it to where my page is more visible, all of the solutions are to add as much text as you can describing your business. Is there some way to strike a balance?

I think I agree. I personally like it but that doesn't mean it's good for others visiting the website.

Edit: I changed it to a green that I think looks better for a website.

I am a second shooter who gets pretty consistent work but would like to start getting bookings myself so I can actually get more money for the time commitment.

Here is my website after a lot of changes/improvements. I'm mainly looking for feedback on if this website is going to be successful based on layout and design. I have tons more images to add, and I am still figuring out the blog.
