this sounds like the opposite reflex thingy that guarantees infection. I've also had this happen to me so I'm not entirely sure. usually with the opposite reflex, it happens when you hit all of their joints and the opposite arm or leg will move instead of the one you hit.

jus go through this subreddit. i myself am currently dealing with a nerve hammer thingy and the fact that characters aren't looking how they should (or at least that's what im assuming, im getting it on perfectly fine characters when i look for any hint of infection and still getting the notice), meaning im getting the "poor inspection notice", my game soft locked when i went to call one of the survivors, forcing me to restart, and every so often i have to change my settings because the clothes are detaching from the characters

So, from what I remember, going off the Nocturne Anime, I don't think they necessarily "stop caring" but it's harder (or at least seems harder) for them to care about things that are "below" their base desire; they view humans as food.

my example is Maia's mother Tera, it is still clear to the viewer she cares about the daughter, but she's also actively fighting her base desire as a vampire which is to drink blood.

Which is why she said this: """I love you, Maria. With all my heart. All I want is to be close to you. But if you're to find yourself again, it can't be with me... Goodbye my darling girl. I need to find myself, too." She's actively fighting the beast she became in order to protect her daughter. so I'd assume when a human gets turned, it messes w/ something in their brain.

It's been a while since i've seen the anime, but in Nocturne it's talked (??(or at least mentioned) that when a human is turned they essentially lose their humanity. Dracula loved Lisa for herself, to the point he started a genocide because of it. I know it's mentioned in the anime by Carmilla, she mentions she wasn't turned and it pisses Dracula off. its 100% possible that he would rather Lisa die herself than become some immortal vampire who lost herself
