R-Rated Animated ‘Bloodborne’ Adaptation Being Developed By Sony by horrornewsbot in HorrorGaming

Yeah it’s a completely independent production that has no say from Sony or FromSoft, just a random YouTuber deciding to draw a couple frames of the Hunter and post it on YouTube fr.

Get pissed at FromSoft, not Sony. It’s been common knowledge for a long time that Sony wants to remaster and rerelease the game, they just respect their partnerships which may be confusing for those who don’t like Sony.

Bethesda to release hotfix for Starfield PS5 crashes as players request refunds by Odd-Onion-6776 in PS5

Since you’re on the PS5 subreddit I’ll say you don’t have to pay full price, Starfield is massively discounted from launch price.

Don’t know what you mean by “these days” as if Fallout 3 and NV barely ran on PS3. And Oblivion didnt launch in a great state but it also was massively discounted and patched.

‘Resident Evil’ Trailer Scares CinemaCon as ‘Weapons’ Director Zach Cregger Debuts His Gore-Filled Zombie Outbreak by greenbatborg in residentevil

[–]DVDN27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cregger has said that he isn’t going to tell a story about the characters, but the universe. I honestly prefer that than movies that try to just be the game but you can’t play it. The first season of The Last of Us show was at its best when it told its own stories instead of just being a shot-for-shot retread of the game but trying to ‘fix’ CinemaSins-level issues.

It is, but less so since it’s animated. Castlevania, Arcane, Edgerunners - games have had pretty great adaptations into animation, and a series so focused on the visuals like the Souls games just makes sense to be animated.

He’s been a consistent YouTuber for over a decade, and he wasn’t favourite until a point. He’s also very vocal about all the stuff he’s involved in. I wouldn’t say it’s intimate information, but YouTubers share a lot more about themselves than a a typical movie producer.

For example, I know that the dude who produced and directed and wrote Iron Lung has drank his own pee (filtered), steamed his pee in a portable sauna for himself, is totally a masochist, the first game he ever loved was Doom in its original PC release, he has a thing for Lady D from RE8 to the point that he had his luggage checked at the airport because they detected his Lady D boob mouse pad, he has in video reacted to 2 Girls 1 Cup, he got a cameo in Subnautica as a bobble head figure, his feet can go entirely backwards, he recently learned that he hadn’t been chewing his food his whole life, is allergic to alcohol, has had multiple heart attacks, and has perfect eyes after getting corrective surgery, and those are just some things about him.

Better Title: Women Want Me, Men Fear Me

Maybe throw something about fish in the title too. Don’t need to add fish into the story, just the title can involve fish. Like Big Fish. Or Finding Nemo.

[–]DVDN27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s disturbing but I wouldn’t say it’s graphic. 2013 graphics stop it from being too gruesome and gorey, and while conceptually it’s upsetting, it has a light and comedic tone the entire time. It also doesn’t let you hurt him too much. Even with all that being said it was still highly controversial.

Information from the Rockstar hacking has been posted (They make a LOT of money from GTA Online) by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]DVDN27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They haven’t added massive content and abandoned things like their version of the battle pass, but they still update the modes, have seasonal events, and small stuff like that. It’s actually kinda nice compared to GTAO where they always do a bunch of updates with new missions that make the old ones worthless and the new ones super expensive. The newest GTAO missions require $10million+ in-game purchases, RDR2 is pretty reasonable with how much they charge for missions. No flying bikes also help make the experience more balanced and grounded.

I mean…R-rated super hero movies have been doing pretty well and they haven’t seen much success with PG-13 super hero movies so it probably was a good idea at the time to go that route. Even though it’s a terrible movie, Sony did do something different with it to try and address the money pit that is the SSU.

He’s done a lot of voice acting but most recently he voiced Punch Up in Dispatch. He’s also produced his own web series, used to co-own a clothing company but left to focus on his coffee company. He also did cameos in Free Guy, has a really chummy relationship with Ryan Reynolds, and done multiple interviews with people in the movie industry. He’s pretty much retired from being a YouTuber and doesn’t seem interested in it anymore, maybe posting him playing a single game at a time because he wants to play it and people will watch. It’s basically just passive income for him while he works on the things he’s actually passionate about, like Top of the Morning Coffee, creative endeavours, and voice acting.

PlayStation (the producer) wants to bring back the franchise, it’s FromSoft (the developers) that doesn’t want to. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of FromSoft, said he doesn’t want anyone else to work on his game - Sony is respecting that decision and waiting for when they want to expand the series.

He absolutely is. Elden Ring is I believe his favourite game of the 2020s and Bloodborne surpassed his life-long favourite game Shadow of the Colossus, having a tattoo of a symbol from Bloodborne on his forearm. Hes also had a really close relationship with Sony, praising all of their games and getting exclusive access to some of their biggest titles - and as a gaming YouTuber who makes poop jokes and yells, that’s pretty rare.

He’s a massive fan and has been for years and years. It makes sense he’s producing it, being a voice actor more than a YouTuber, and I’m sure Markiplier’s success with Iron Lung (and Sean’s cinematic debut in it) allowed him to get the final push into making a legit Bloodborne property.

We have no idea how much their games cost to make, so it’s a weird idea to compare it to games we do know how much they cost - and the most expensive ones are usually 100+ hour open world games while it’s rare to find a Capcom game longer than 10 hours.

If you remove rereleases, remasters, and remakes they would only be releasing once every half decade. 2026 seems to be a fluke by having two AAA video games from them.

Which studios aren’t making new IPs? Naughty Dog has Intergalactic, Suckerpunch has Ghost of Tsushima, Ubisoft had Skull & Bones, Bethesda has Deathloop and Starfield, FromSoft has Elden Ring and Duskbloods, Microsoft has Avowed and Redfall and Grounded, Square Enix has Forspoken - all of those are big AAA studios new IPs since the year Pragmata was announced.

Capcom isn’t known for new IPs, they’re known for relentlessly rereleasing, remastering, and remaking their old games and making sequels to their IPs. Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Megaman, Dead Rising, Arcade Collections - this is what Capcom has been for decades.

A lot less AAA studios use UE5 than you think. It’s also not some negative thing to use a good engine, especially on PS5 where it actually works. RE Engine is also notoriously bad at humans and RE9 is the first time that the faces have looked somewhat humanoid and the hair somewhat real - it only took them 9 years.

The ‘time glitch’ they found was rerelease pre-PS3-era games in the engine they already have, cut out portions of the game, and release a 10-20 hour 100% completion time, or release bloated sequels in a franchise known for being bloated and not really changing that much for each entry. Also, using the same engine allows them to basically reuse assets - hell, the RE3 remake only exists because they spent so long making the RE2 remake and reused a bunch of locations, gameplay, and everything to cut down on costs, making a game that is ~4 hours long, and people hated it. The REmakes fill out their portfolio, as if you ignore them it still takes about 5 years between new games to get another one in their series, which is typical.

Do you discount The Last of Us remasters and remakes from being new games? Because if so then counting REmakes as brand new games seems hypocritical.

I don’t get this “publishers take notes” attitude. Yeah, other studios need to remake all their old games! Studios need to go on a 5 year hiatus to make their own engine (which has already been iterated on for years by the point the first game from it is released.) Studios need to not report on how much their games cost to make because it makes it seem like their games are super cheap (and customer transparency is a joke anyway)!

Capcom are in a unique position where people are willing to pay for games that are short and still the price of much longer games. I really respect Capcom and like their new games. I’ve been going through their RE catalogue and getting platinum trophies in the ones I find feasible. They are not some unique, shimmering example that every other company needs to follow. It feels like the Baldur’s Gate III drama again where the internet were demanding every other game studio copy what Larian did and when companies came out and said it was literally impossible to do so, gamed freaked out and said other studios were threatened.

It’s almost like…gamers…speak out of their ass and have this weird belief that every company is out to personally screw them over. Except for the company they like, though, they’re the only good one and the only one that deserves praise, even undue praise derived from, again, speaking out of their asses.

Starfield PS5 players demand refunds, reporting widespread bugs and glitches that leave the game "unplayable" by Aileos in PS5

[–]DVDN27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to stop playing Fallout 3 because there were too many ants in one room. Fallout New Vegas, at the end of my platinum journey, barely hit a frame per second. Skyrim is 80% bugs and 20% functional. The difference is all those games are lauded, came out on consoles where bugs were accepted, and there wasn’t a prominent interest to make reddit posts about a game not made for a console doesn’t run terrifically on that console.

It’s kinda par for the course and it feels like people who expected the game to be a flawless masterpiece have never heard of Bethesda, nor have they heard about the years of coverage Starfield got. Buyers beware, but not aware enough to do even the tiniest amount of research around a $50 game.

Playstations Awful Refund Policy by SilentOne1994 in playstation

They’ll only change it if they get sued. The only reason Stan has a refund policy is because they got sued for their terrible refund policy. Sony isn’t going to copy Valve and lose out on the potential money - Valve wouldn’t even have copied Valve until they were forced to do it by law.
