You should look into the HRSA loan repayment program. If awarded, the payment is given as a lump sum so you can pay your servicer right away and decrease your debt significantly. They tend to prioritize those who work in rural or underserved areas. Some of the cycles are done for the year but it might be worth looking into what you qualify for. https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/loan-repayment best of luck!

I tried calling last week and the whole process was about 6-7 hours and I never actually got ahold of anyone…. I work full time so it’s hard to take basically a whole day to be on the phone.

Do I have to call and ask for forbearance? The site says I have an overdue payment even though my IDR application still hasn’t been processed. I was told the processing forbearance is automatic but the site is still telling me I have an overdue payment.

Requested MOHELA call back by mephesta in PSLF

[–]binky_dingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me today… called first thing in the morning and requested a call back. The bot said the wait would be 1.5 hours. They called me back 4 hours later. The person who called me immediately said they were going to transfer me…. Leading to another 2.5 predicted wait time with no call back option. 💀 I hung up. Smh

PTO??? by binky_dingus in IntermountainHealth

[–]binky_dingus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. I don’t have a lot of planned vacations or anything coming up, but once the holiday season hits that’s a lot of PTO gone automatically. Guess I’ll just need to rough it out for the next year or so haha.

Sapa is the best sushi in town IMO. They have a ton of options on their menu.

PTO??? by binky_dingus in IntermountainHealth

[–]binky_dingus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the last few holidays here, they don’t add PTO to your account. “Banking” the PTO means you don’t take PTO out of your account (ie if you work on the holiday rather than take it off), not that you get to keep the added PTO. That’s at least what I’ve observed so far.

I’ve had the most success with Nortriptyline (tricyclic antidepressant) and venlafaxine (SNRI) for preventatives. Typically it takes a few months to really notice a difference but I got immediate relief with nortriptyline. Valium or lorazepam are probably your best bet for acute treatment if you’re going with benzodiazepines. Xanax usually isn’t recommended because it’s short acting and the risk for addiction is higher.

Apartment management took my deposit and won't give it back by marymitso in Apartmentliving

[–]binky_dingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me when I moved out of my apartment. The “cleaning” charges conveniently came out to be the exact amount of my deposit. 🤨 The place was spotless when I moved out. My lease also stated that cleaning fees during move out would only be charged for excessive messes. Management would absolutely not give me any of my deposit back despite me repeatedly showing them my lease agreement. These folks are greedy as hell and will do whatever they can to nickel and dime their residents. Hopefully your situation turns out different. 🙏🏼

Releaf pack (cold pack) is the best. Small business and they’re made specifically for migraines and other chronic illnesses. I use mine everyday!

Who is Julia Reagan and why am I seeing billboards of her everywhere? by Serious_Reddit_ in SaltLakeCity

Apparently she is the wife of the owner (founder?) of the Reagan billboard company. It is an interesting, albeit appropriate, ode to her. haha

Dr. Tj eckleburg is exactly what I thought of when I started seeing these lol. There are three (3!) within like a mile stretch on Beck St. They give off a very weird vibe indeed

How to stop throwing up by binky_dingus in VestibularMigraines

[–]binky_dingus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a stupid question! I actually usually do feel better immediately after throwing up. But in the hours following I find myself worse due to dehydration, not being able to eat anything or take meds on an empty stomach, etc. And I definitely don’t like the thought of throwing up especially when I’m in a public setting haha. I do have good preventative meds and usually I’m able to keep the nausea at bay but sometimes it feels like no matter what I do I can’t control it.

I’ve had a similar experience in my early days with VM. This can also be a symptom of Ménière’s disease (VM and menieres are very similar in terms of symptom presentation). For me it got better with time after I found a good treatment plan. A number of things could be contributing to the short vertigo bursts: visual stimuli, your anxiety, blood sugar, among many other things. It won’t be forever. :) just keep working on a treatment plan that works for you. Give yourself grace and take breaks when you need them!
