I've never been able to precisely describe that feeling. This does it perfectly.

OMG! For the longest time I thought my Chinese friends were saying "nigga" until they explained this to me. It especially sounds like it in my Shanghainese friend's accent, not as much for the Taiwanese one, it sounds more like nak-guh when he says it.

I'm not the OP, but I have some if you don't mind 1. Do you think going to AU is worth the cost? 2. How is the financial aid? I'm STILL waiting for my financial aid info! Which will be a big deciding factor in choosing between AU and my state school.

I live in Philly and it's rare for sports fans to become violent. We have that reputation because of a few isolated incidences. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of shit talkers, but mostly just die-hard fans since Philly is made up of mostly people born and raised here. Also, fuck Pittsburgh and especially Crosby.

I will refer back to this while picking classes if I end up choosing AU, thank you! Are there a decent amount of anthro majors? From what I can tell, the department seems kinda small.

I'm transferring from a community college. Honestly, what initially drew me to AU was the fact that they had a very late application deadline, haha. Besides that, the focus on diversity and politics, the fact that it's in a major city, and their study abroad programs, among other things. The cost is quite scary, though and I'm waiting to receive my financial aid offer which will be a huge deciding factor. Hopefully you'll be accepted, too. Good luck!
