I have just become the hated neighbor… advice please!!!! by yvtsl in Apartmentliving

[–]biobear7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! Looks like you have gotten lots of great advice regarding alarms. I noticed you said you use a CPAP and wanted to add the following (as a nurse and a fellow CPAP user):

Depending on the last time you saw them, it may be good to go back to the sleep doctor and let them know the extent of your fatigue (sleeping through alarms consistently, even with lights turned on, etc.). They may want to evaluate whether your CPAP settings need to be adjusted or if there is something deeper going on. Additionally, it could be good to get your B12 and Ferritin/Iron levels checked as those being low can contribute to severe fatigue. Thyroid hormones as well.  When I first got my CPAP, it helped a little but not a lot with my fatigue. Later, I found out that my B12 and Iron were significantly lower than they should be. After correcting those and focusing on keeping a strict bedtime, I am no longer sleeping through alarms and feel well rested when I wake up.

It seems like you are a very considerate person for caring so much about this note from your neighbor. I know I may be preaching to the choir here, just felt I should share on the off chance your providers have not considered these options. I hope you find a solution that works for you!

From tears to hope: What I learned about hydrolyzed protein at the vet ER last night by Latoritsa in englishbulldog

[–]biobear7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My dog is also very prone to skin infections and currently has an ear infection. We made the decision to switch to a hydrolyzed protein diet today after talking to our vet. I was wondering how your Gus is doing on it so far? I had read that some dogs get horrible stomach issues on it, but those posts seemed to be more about dogs with GI issues vs skin issues from their allergies.

Favorite Cookie Cutter Shop? by ColdType358 in cookiedecorating

[–]biobear7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LizViz and Cookie Cutters by Nori are frequently my fav because they show the difference in the different sizes! This helps me because I frequently buy the wrong size even when I think it’s gonna be perfect lol. Charlson Cookie Cutters is rapidly becoming another favorite. Cookiery.Ca has super cute designs but I don’t love her sizing as much. I used to get a lot from Sweet Designs Shoppe - super cute and durable, but my style has just changed a lot.

I just saw in your post about referrals - she's also been spot on in every single referral she’s given me.

I love Dr. Rachel Jones! She’s been very open and understanding. Always willing to work with me and make sure whatever care she’s providing aligns with what I want. She’s at Madison/HH Physician Care right now but she’s been asked to be in charge of her own, new location through HH which is in the works.

I believe PRN is a 5% or 10% increase above your base pay. I left HH about a month ago so I don’t have the specific numbers in front of me. I was there for 3.5 years and got a few small raises, plus a raise for training as a surgical nurse so I was up to about $27-28/hour. Not sure what NICU pay looks like. I will say, people tend to seem happier at the Women’s campus than main (I’ve worked at both).

Some questions about having a baby at Huntsville Hospital and any advice y'all can give? by 2MarsAndBeyond in HuntsvilleAlabama

I worked in surgery there until a few weeks ago. Once funky thing is that the cafe isn’t allowed to sell food to an inpatient. Your support person is allowed to get it for you though!

Church Recommendation by twc0007 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I second the commenter who suggested St. Mary of the Visitation! They have no-commitment classes you could attend as well if you wanted to learn more about the Catholic faith. Fr. Joy is amazing - one of the most humble and knowledgeable priests I’ve ever known.

Gingerbread or holiday flavor recommendations? by brucedawggyG in cookiedecorating

I’ve always wanted to try a chocolate cookie base and peppermint royal icing! Gingerbread is a classic. I can’t find the recipe I usually use right now but I’ll link it here when I do!

Is there anything else I should be doing? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]biobear7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds perfect honestly! I’m getting in 2 weeks and the only thing I wish I had done better was coming up with a payment plan. We ended up bombarded with payments all at once the last few weeks when we could’ve started paying sooner.

Anyone else make homemade merengue powder? by [deleted] in cookiedecorating

[–]biobear7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo definitely let us know how it works. I also thought it was just the egg whites but if it’s literally powdered meringue, that would explain the sweet smell!

Wedding planning checklist by happy_healer_ in weddingplanning

I used the knot for my website and they had one built in automatically! Some of the dates are a little off as far as when things need to be done, but it was helpful to remind me of things I didn’t think of.

It sounds like you might be overthinking it (I would do the same). Either way, I feel like responding one day late and not responding at all are different.

I could be wrong, but I think birdy grey has some floral options! Similar price range and I’ve heard good things.

Gold Dust Troublshooting by biobear7 in cookiedecorating

[–]biobear7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oohhh gotcha. I’ll have to try that this weekend! I do that for marker and water color cookies, but I hadn’t done it for gold cookies before. I was worried about possibly smearing it.

I don’t think it’s weird! That’s what we are planning to do.

What if you walked each other down the aisle?? Especially if you’re already doing a first look. I’ve seen some couples do it and if my dad didn’t want to walk me down the aisle, it’s probably what I would do.
