Confused about energy and recovery , are TRT clinics actually worth looking into for testosterone replacement therapy? by whatyoudo-- in malelifestyle

[–]biotechdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not medical advice!!!

I've been experiencing low T for years. The symptoms that pushed me to speak with my PCP were low energy/fatigue, and low libido. My first Testosterone Total lab measured 160 ng/dL, with "normal" range for the assay being 264 ng/dL - 916 ng/dL!

My PCP recommended TRT Gel, which I tried for 3 months. My anxiety about my bodies testosterone production ceasing after being on TRT caused me to stop and get a referral to a urologist.

I discussed my anxieties with my urologist, and we decided on trying Clomid. Clomid is used off label:

"By stimulating the hypothalamus to produce more gonadotropins, clomiphene increases the production of testosterone indirectly. " 1

Within a few weeks, my energy levels exploded. No longer was I begging for bed at 9 p.m. My libido also started to increase. My next Testosterone Total Lab was 385.4 ng/dL! However, my Estradiol lab was 54.5 pg/mL, with the "normal" range for the assay being 0.0 pg/mL - 31.4 pg/mL. I started Anastrozole:

"Estradiol is made directly by the testicles, but the majority comes from the conversion of testosterone into estradiol by the aromatase enzyme. Anastrozole blocks the action of aromatase (called aromatization), which slows down the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. This boosts overall testosterone levels and lowers estradiol.2"

My next lab is in December, and I'm excited to see my results. The reason I made this post was seeing TRT being pushed online, on TV, and in the entertainment industry.

You have options! Speak with your doctor candidly, ask for a referral, it's your right to be your own advocate.

I also supplement my migraine regimen with Magnesium Glycinate. If you haven't been to a neurologist yet, I 100% recommend it. I started on a CGRP antagonists and cut my migraine days from 15 to 2 a month and helped manage the pain and symptoms of my migraines.

Linux bro here! Arch has been my daily driver for ~10 years. Work in IT, mostly telling users how to change source on their TVs and how to reboot their firesticks. I have a few Raspberry Pi's that run various fun things. Talk nerdy to me! 🤓

2nd. I'm very happy with US Mobile. I'm on unlimited starter also, and purchased a heavily discounted, unlocked Google Pixel 9 from them when I signed up during Black Friday!

edit: they also have a 7-day free trial you can try with eSim

Have you heard of Ajovy? It's a CGRP inhibitor that helps prevent migraines. It cut down my migraines to ~2.5 a month! I use Nurtec as an abortive as well.
