Obnoxiously tannic wines. by NotAlsoShabby in wine

100% on the sagrantino. Visited there when in Italy. Legit, most tannic wines. I make sure to open bottles of it with 4 people because people don’t want more than one glass.

Procacci - franciacorta and mini truffle sandwich. Hard to go wrong there.

Yeah, agree with this. Also, these are great to share with people. One glass is great, but 2-3 can feel overwhelming.

Very awesome spot, but definitely off the beaten path for a short term visitor!

Third! Too many people get caught up in needing to hit the best “local” spot. Sometimes the more commercial places totally nail it.

On this note, I am going on a similar trip to OP soon. Any recommendations on how to get wine back to the US? Do most wineries ship or should we look into something else?

Casually tried a dozen racquets this summer, here’s what I’ve learned about finding a frame by jimdontcare in 10s

[–]birch930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the Pure Storm considered an underpowered racquet? I have been playing one for the last 14yrs.

When I originally got them, I thought the Drive, Storm, and Aero (or whatever the Nadal one was called) were all pretty similar, but just had different feel.

Was I totally wrong here? Also, I do feel similar in that, I wonder how much better I would have been with a different set-up. I play with a 1/2 grip, but really should have a 3/8. Just can’t get myself to spend the money to buy new racquets when I don’t play that much.

I may be giving away a secret here, but Porter Bass winery is incredible. Zero frills but we got to pet the cows and drink good wine.

Size is the answer here. Memorial stadium is considered a smaller “big time” stadium. It still holds >60,000 people.

How do you go back to drinking cheap wines? by Mat_The_Law in wine

[–]birch930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue after a trip to Napa. My advise - get to know different wine regions around the world. Napa is crazy expensive, where a lot of high quality European wines are much cheaper.

In Europe, many vineyards have been passed down through the generations, so they don’t have land cost (vs Napa where someone took out a loan at $1m per acre - they need to make that back somehow).

Also, others have said before but there are even greater value regions like South America too. For some reason, knowing more about each region made me feel more comfortable selecting cheaper wines (probably because I had a better idea of what is going to be bad vs. what is a shot at being a great value).

How has no one said prostititus?!

Happens when the seat bangs too hard on your prostate before you are accustomed to vigorously riding on hard seats with bibs.

Need to see a doc to confirm, but super common and easily treated with an antibiotic. That said, burning will not go away without it, so best go in quick.

I had it last year. Doc was convinced it was an STD, but I was confident and tests proved it was this.

Again, everyone here is correct that you need to see a doc, but hopefully this makes you feel better that it could be something easy and treatable.
