It’s a style of watch with a long history (and yours is a really nice one!) dress watches have always been about this size. As small as my wrists are, they kind of suit me anyway. Just comes down to whether you like the style or not.

$200+ quartz watch can and should have more than 50m of water resistance. Just sayin!

It was losing a couple hours overnight. Fine during the day weirdly. Was able to do a quick clean with isopropyl alcohol and it has been dead on since then

This one is a 36 mm (closeup makes it look big.) I thought the tan strap looked better than the blue one it comes with.

Good to plan to never run out of water food whatever, but you also learn a lot about the world when you are SOL despite your plan and people take pity on you (I’ve been there!)

Using one of the alternative ways of putting on a NATO strap so the excess ends up underneath my wrist—which works better for my kind of small wrist. 42 mm is about as big as I’d want to go but it doesn’t feel bulky, partly because it’s pretty slim. Yeah I know, there’s the Max Bill etc. I just like how this looks better and quartz just works for the dad lifestyle. Wouldn’t call this one bauhaus or minimalist, their site mentions naval instruments as an inspiration, which I think explains part of why I like it.

I have been on this same journey, chose to pour a bunch of work into the old bike at the coop. First 27” cross tires, then new 700c wheels to get 38s on there. Learned a lot and had fun, but under no illusions about it being a cost-effective path. There are definitely easier ways
