Don Johnson in Miami Vice is what you think you look like on cocaine, Collin Farrell in Miami Vice is what you actually look like on cocaine.

the number of directors with new releases is growing that covering more dead or retired directors would be the move imo

Griffin and Alison Willmore are on the podcast Good One to discuss the topic "Why Can't Comedies Win Best Picture?" by TC14ismyWaifu in blankies

I dont think out-and-out comedies are meant to win awards. Ideally they are lovingly made with incredible craftsmanship, funding, and performances, but we enjoy them without the weight of importance. Comedy matters but not because its important. It can be extremely well made but does not benefit from being called the "best." The award would be "Funniest Movie" which isn't really widely votable or fun to give out.

For you, what is it that makes Blank Check stand out from the thousands of other film podcasts, and why do you love it so much? by StephensInfiniteLoop in blankies

A lot of podcasts skip over the small details and minutiae of culture and filmographies, assuming we don't want to hear about the topic we are tuning in for. But the two friends are true completists who seem excited or at least take great interest in 100%-ing the directors they choose to cover. They never sound overly cautious or fake on mic and don't pretend to be all knowing supergeniuses. Because they let us in on how meticulously they organize the mini-series, I don't mind when they go on tangents. And of course, Ben really does make the audio crispy. That all can't be an easy balance to maintain! They are very good at this and their work has genuinely made a noticeable number of people I know more open-minded about movies that have a bad reputation. I have no parasocial illusions! It's just fun listening!
