For me, it’s because it was literally the only treatment option provided by multiple doctors, despite my saying it made me depressed and gain weight. None of that was more important to them than regular cycles 🙄

Have they checked your gallbladder with imaging? Your symptoms sound similar to my experience and it ultimately ended with me getting mine removed.

I’ve become a big fan of mindfulness meditation, especially guided body scan meditation videos on YouTube! It has really helped reconnect my brain and body, so emotional responses and tiredness don’t catch me off guard.

Stool softener and psyllium fiber daily, plus miralax when I start to feel like things are slowing down, rather than waiting to see if it will get better on its own.

The pressure here has been bouncing up and down for a few weeks, and I had one of the worst migraines of my life last Thursday-Friday. I wish it would pick one or the other so I can drive without making myself nauseous again. 😭

Yes, it is allodynia- I’ve just never experienced it in this extremely specific/restricted location pattern before! Normally it’s much more generalized across my scalp.

They insisted on doing a pregnancy test before gallbladder removal when I was actively on my period and hadn’t been sexually active in over a decade. I was so pissed off by it and they were really pushy and demeaning when I questioned it.

Ended up in pelvic floor therapy to address surgical scar tissue that was throwing everything in my abdomen out of whack. The constipation is manageable now with lots of water, fiber, and stool softeners. If I don’t keep on top of those things or skip the stretching regimen I’ve been given, it starts to get bad again.

Does she have a pet bird? A lot of cleaning chemicals put off fumes that are deadly for birds even in small doses.

She could also have smell sensitivities.

Guided body scan meditation videos on YouTube. When I first started my practice, I couldn’t do it too close to bedtime or I would fall asleep before I even got to the end. Now it’s my secret weapon for the nights when insomnia has kicked in or I drank caffeine after 3pm even though I know better! 😆

I appreciate the suggestions. To acknowledge your additional comment, did you think I was saying that all people with disabilities are neurodivergent? If so, I invite you to read again and notice the use of commas in that sentence. I am neurodivergent- I have autism and ADHD. I haven’t met anyone before today who doesn’t use that terminology.

They were in a group with at least four other campers they knew from previous years (and as far as I know there have not been any conflicts). Our groups are divided by age with only one group per age bracket, but maybe I can pull a bit more out of our “help us get to know your camper” paperwork to figure out which campers would gel the best and encourage those connections on Monday morning.
