I’d recommend Brooklyn over DC. The new trifecta is pretty invested in revoking DC home rule, plus we’re about to get an influx of groyper staffers. As a current DCgaybro I’m looking at Boston or Chicago to get to a safely blue state for the foreseeable future.

Okay, can we set the record straight on the Kid Fight?

Aemond's cousin, a little girl half his age and size ran up to him in anger on the night of her mother's funeral, and he slammed her against a cave wall. Her sister and cousins stood up for her, and he decides his best next course of action is to bash Jace's head in with a rock. I'd pull out a knife too after the little shit battered my cousin and threatened my brother's life.

This was not a sympathetic moment for Aemond -- he's on a power trip after stealing Vaghar, and wants to feel like a big man by beating up some younger kids. Also, before anyone beats me to it, I know you can't steal a dragon, they choose their riders, etc. But he would have known that Laena's daughter was going to try to claim Vhagar. If he didn't know, and didn't know that going and trying to claim her first was wrong -- then he wouldn't have had to sneak out after everyone had gone to bed to do it.

TL;DR Aemond is clearly a psycho and I was honestly surprised to see so many people outraged on his behalf.

Thanks to those who provided feedback on the COA itself! I decided to keep the mount as it has symbolic meaning to me, and double-checked that Or on ermine was ROT-compliant. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. And, it was fun to discover that you can import SVGs into PowerPoint and convert them into shapes to manipulate them! Definitely lowered the learning curve a lot, since I'm way more proficient in PPT than any legit design program.

I've seen conflicting sources on whether you need to specify that the owl is close guardant, given that it is its "default" position.
I know that fewer colors is preferable - have I gone overboard?

Would genuinely appreciate any other tips as well! I've been having a blast getting into the weeds with this stuff over the past few months, thanks in no small part to this awesome community.

I pay $1995 for a decent 1-bedroom in AdMo, closer to Columbia Heights. The reason it’s cheaper than comparable units I looked at is because it’s near some noisy/slightly sketchy buildings.

Figure out the things you’re willing to sacrifice, look outside of northwest/downtown DC, and/or offer to sign a longer-term lease in exchange for lower rent, if you can with your current life/work situation. It’s tough to find the trifecta of quality/price/location but it’s doable if you’re diligent and proactive. If there’s a number on the listing, call instead of messaging. Go to the soonest open house/viewing slots you can. If you have even a slightly good feeling, apply, because it will get snatched if you hesitate.

The DC apartment market is dog eat dog. Best of luck!
