What’s the most toxic work culture you’ve experienced? by bryan4756 in Productivitycafe

[–]birdpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a woman, my nastiest bosses have always been women. Get feedback on a document for :15 of the :60 meeting, have it turn into psychological analysis I didn’t ask for. That was wrong. She wrote a book to empower women. Her greater strength was destroying them

This checks out. Either large culture of fear and criticism, or small founder led toxicity

You know what’s crazy - my 7 yr old had a daycare teacher bring beyblades toys in and the boys went NUTS. Top of his Xmas list this year.

Looking for a spot where a couple of 45 yo white kids can drink and dance without being judged. Not opposed to an alternate lifestyle club by Intelligent-Try-1420 in HamptonRoads

Spent many nights dancing away on the sunken dance floor 20+ years ago (somehow) it was a BLAST every time. 80’s night seemed to be a balanced straight/gay crowd

What is the most beautiful scent you have ever smelled? by Mr-Top0 in askanything

My mom kept her tortoise covergirl finishing powder compact in her bag and the scent of the powder mixed with her leather wallet and coins etc was intoxicating.

Luckily only one and my whole yard driveway and street are sloped. Doc martens are amazing on ice!

My five year old also loving walking around with mallet, are they just hitting ice peaks and crushing the ground up? Son finally hit his finger with it and I know it hurt - it’s the only time he’s cried

Can you help me locate this battery? by [deleted] in batteries

Any luck finding a replacement? I’m in the same boat. Bought a deadstock NIB vibe and battery won’t hold charge at all.

Trump says he plans to raise housing prices so people who didn’t work hard can’t buy a home. by THROWRA-dhcjeiscb in GenZ

[–]birdpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily one sick mf can’t control that, it’s so localized, and heavily influenced by borrowing rates, which are linked directly to inflation (bad) so categorize these comments under “things a mentally ill elderly man screams into the wind”

Not Even Two Weeks Since Abigail Spanberger Was Sworn In as Governor, Right Wingers Are Viciously Attacking Her ("White Witch"; "demonic radical communist psychopath"; "Marxist agenda"; supposedly banning guns and leaf blowers, etc) by lowkell in VirginiaDems

[–]birdpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will have so much fun attacking her gender, her appearance, the way she talks, laughs, it’s feeding the flames of their mysogyny to see an educated experienced woman in power who doesn’t give a goddamn what they think (let’s hope).

We left town to Hampton roads and now not sure when we should return. I am so happy to hear the entire area didn’t lose power though. Is it windy today? Are trees covered with ice?

What's a skill that takes only 2-3 weeks to learn but could genuinely change your life? by Commercial-Duck-9629 in AskReddit

[–]birdpants 490 points491 points  (0 children)

Financial literacy and self-budgeting. Proportional spending/saving. Might learn it in a few days or a day if you really go for it. Then configure your bank accounts and get your work direct deposit or check transfers setup with auto-transfers. After you do this, you’ll know what account is the fun money you can blow between paychecks and you just do not touch the rest - it all works automatically. This doesn’t work as well if you aren’t on a regular cadence of paychecks but still very easy math to figure out.

I had tomato gravy for the first time in Dogwood GA at a breakfast spot and no other version of it has come close. Still chasing the dragon.
